Omg Jiang Cheng being forced to pretend to be a future!Wei Wuxian to Wei Wuxian and his younger self is a level of chaos that is truly delightful. Jiang Cheng trying and failing to be Wei Wuxian’s level of gremlin energy is hilarious but he finds momentary pleasure from telling teenage Wei Wuxian that he is now a responsible rule-following Adult. Teenage Wei Wuxian is dramatically aghast, states this is the absolute worst future in the entire world, and is absolutely determined to change it. He also very obnoxiously declares that at least he stills looks Handsome™ and Rugged™ and asks repeatedly if he and Lan Wangji are friends in the future. Teenage Jiang Cheng on the other hand is immediately unimpressed and suspicious and makes it a thousand times more difficult for adult Jiang Cheng to get absolutely anything productive done to change their awful, awful future and save his family. Is it healthy to want to kill your younger self when you are in fact still yourself in your big brother’s body? He doesn’t know. But when this is all over, he is going to kill Wei Wuxian. The good news is that Jiang Yanli who holds both her brothers’ (1) brain cell figures out who Jiang Cheng is in less than three days.
