How does Caro avoid getting mobbed by adoring fans when they're just out running errands?
They don't! They are like any other pop star, security detail, personal shopper and the power of a lame disguise on days they sneak out on their own. And to be fair, Caro LOVES attention, they don't actually mind it sometimes. I think it's just cuz I usually only show the reader Caro in ValleyRidge, so we never see that side of it. The coffee shop in the Valley, Brew, is a safe haven from a lot of supernatural activity because John occupies that space so frequently, and some of Caro's popularity is because as a Seer, they are also Seen to a supernatural extent. That means when they are in a space or wearing the pendant that's got John's natural gift of protection around it, they can have a more normal experience because some of that Seen-ness is blurred out. Its not perfect, because John's ability is something he doesnt even know about (probably) or control, and it isn't Caro Exclusive, and Caro's abilities are heightened by stress and anxiety, but it at least keeps the mobbing to a minimum for the most part when they are John adjacent.
