The summer breeze has put Alfonse in a good mood today.
For once, there is not much work to do. They have a brief respite from fighting, dealing with nobles, making plans, and the drudgery of paperwork.
The sun bears down brightly and the air is warm, but the wind provides a welcome relief from the heat and Alfonse has spent the better part of the morning reading in the garden, away from noise and bothers of any sort. Though he often feels a need to be productive at any cost to his health, today his nerves are soothed and settled.
He comes across Rosa in the hall as he’s on his way to his quarters. She’s looking out a window and doesn’t see him, but the sight of her pretty face admiring the view gives him a smile all the same.
“Rosa,” He calls, and she turns.
He lets the whim overtake him and leans in as he passes her. Kisses her nose abruptly and offers a teasing smile as he heads further down the hall. The surprise on her face is more than satisfying.
