One of the things that makes Ilya's storyline so relatable is his relationship to his family. So many queer people work so hard to be good family members who love and care for their families the best that can. Pouring energy and unconditiobal love into families who will only ever love them conditionally.
Ilya struggles with the fact that his dad will never be able to know when he truly is. Even if Ilya was safe to come out to his dad. His dad would never remember. He would never have the time to process. Even during the period Ilyas father is still alive he knows his father will never trully know him. He has to care for a person who he knows will never be able to know him or love him for who he truly is and that kills him because there is a world where things could have been different and he didn't get that world. The agony of loving people who will never be able to actually know and love you is a deeply relatable plot.
Connor Storrie an Hudson Williams are in fact grown men who are more than capable of setting boundaries and testing their own limits. Hudson has expressed plenty of times he will not tolerate bullshit, and Connor has been in the actual business for Eight Years - they're not fresh flowers being plucked from the meadow--
And
Being protective of two rather young fresh stars being thrown into the world of show business nose first in a measly two months is a sign of growth from fandom that really needs to consider how human actors really are, and it IS nice to know people genuinely love them and want them to take some time after the show to recoup and enjoy the quiet luxury of fame--
AND
These things can go hand in hand. They should.
Ngll...most Hiccup au's or fic ideas I've heard on this app or that r popular feel more like self projection au's than a Hiccup au 💔💔
Jason doing the "back in my day we hiked 4 to school up a mountain with 30 books on our backs" old people thing but with his friends would fix me I think.
"You're annoyed by walking? When I was 4 I walked 20 miles all by myself to New Rome from The Wolf House"
That kind of thing. It would heal me. He learns what trauma is and uses it against his friends lol

The most fucking fake thing in this world is when the father figure leaves his children because of literally nothing
They always fight so fucking hard to keep them and for what? To just leave in the end? Nope, I don’t agree
