every so often lark skitters into a corner and curls up in a ball and falls asleep and when he wakes up in parabola he's in the middle of the nightmare orphanage and he immediately sets about hunting + stabbing his husband for fun. the enrichment his husband gets from this activity is debatable. the enrichment lark gets from this activity is unquenchable. peace and hate and poor edward's panicked screams on planet earth.

It wasn't as if you didn't expect anything from him... But, you didn't expect him to come to you with an actual gift in hand. Usually it would be a simple "happy birthday!" and that would be the extent of the conversation. That is what it has been the last 2 years, so you aren't sure why this is suddenly different. A gift like this given to you... It makes you pause as you stare. You aren't one to turn down a good snack, especially something that looks like it would taste sickeningly sweet. So you snatch it from him, quicker then he would even percieve. Using your gloved hand to pick it up and take a bit out of it.
