Haloed by the sun, a gorgeous, horned person with shimmering lavender skin, a cascade of wavy hair over one shoulder, and unnaturally red eyes is lying on their front beside Caleb, hand casually propping up their chin, thick lashes lilting low and pretty as they survey him closely with a fanged smirk, and most exciting and surreal of all-- a large fish tail swishing behind them, not unlike a cat.

It's a little funny that he had to get thrown overboard in a storm and had to almost drown to finally find a merperson like he's been wishing for for ages, and funnier yet that his sense of self-preservation gets very quickly thrown overboard too, readily replaced by a heart-pounding thrill as the merperson's gaze rakes over him slow and hot, as if they wish to devour him in more ways than one.
