I've decided on my own plot for the new FNAF game because I wasn't paying attention watching it through streams and absolutely had not paid enough attention to previous lore to make any accurate sense out of it.
So the way it goes, is that a young girl got taken to the Mega Pizzaplex by her brother one weekend, but he got tired of babysitting and ditched her. She got lost in the mall, and was so frightened when she couldn't find him that instead of going to security for help she ran and hid in the staff only sections until it was nighttime and everyone else had left.
She then wandered the Pizzaplex by night, exploring, and when morning came and the doors opened she was so worried that she would get in trouble that she still kept out of sight and hid again at closing time.
And she just... stayed there, gradually starting to feel at home in her mall-mansion, eating whatever junkfood she wanted and playing the arcade games. At first she thought she was just hearing distant arcade games and store jingles at night, but eventually realised it was the animatronics calling out for her. Except they didn't know HER name, they knew the name she had called out the first couple of days she while was lost: Gregory.
Before long, she was talking back to them.
She learned eventually, through trial and error, which ones were harmless and which ones would harm her - and realised there were more of the former than the latter.
(Somebody must have known she was there, security cameras would have shown a little girl living in the Pizzaplex. But if someone knew, they never told... or at least, never lived to tell.)
In the end, it got to the point where the robots and whatever truly animated them were her real family, and she decided if she wanted to know what really made them tick she needed to get inside the company. So as soon as she found out they were hiring, she put her name down to get a job as a security guard.
(And - someone on the inside - maybe the same someone who made sure she was never found - made sure she got the job.)
Over time, more children got lost, or thought it would be cool to sneak into the Pizzaplex and stay after hours, but she couldn't let that happen. This was her place. HER family. SHE was the one who would become one of them. THEY didn't deserve to stay here. THEY had to be taken care of.
So she made them disappear. And something was never quite right about her, because she didn't seem to realise that every single missing child she searched for, she couldn't help but call them Gregory.
She still has nightmares, sometimes, about those first nights trapped as a little girl, running from robots and solving puzzles with her best friend, Freddy. Weirdly, as time goes on... she sees her own, older self pursuing her. Calling, Gregory, I know you're here.
And that's how Vanessa went from being the hunted, to the hunter.
thinking about peter copying tony’s mannerisms the more time he spends with him. I think we sometimes forget that tony was peter’s IDOL for YEARS before he recruited him during CW. Like imagine your favorite celebrity just sitting in your living room when you come home from school one day.
peter adores tony, but tony builds this emotional wall between them from the get-go, mostly because he’s afraid he’s going to be a bad influence. At the beginning of the mentorship he keeps peter at an arms length, because he knows everything he touches turns to ruin.
I certainly think that, in the earliest stages of their relationship, before peter started to see the more human side of him, he would copy his mannerisms, even simple little things like the way he stands with his hands in his pockets or the way he nods at the receptionist when he walks into one of his fancy business buildings. He thought that maybe, if he was more like tony, tony would like him more.
SCENARIOS:
when they’re in the lab, peter copies little things about tony, the way he sits, the way he stands with his arms crossed, the way he moves seamlessly around the room swiping at holograms and picking up tools in a controlled, chaotic dance. At this point, peter doesn’t know where everything is in the lab yet, but he feels insecure asking, so he just kind of fumbles around until tony helps him.
peter yells at DUM-E to pass him things the way tony does, except DUM-E doesn’t listen to him.
peter starts picking up some of the sayings that tony has, even the less… school appropriate ones.
peter gets kidnapped while he’s out on patrol. it’s the first time this has happened, and quite frankly he’s terrified. when tony is scared he doesn’t show it. so, he tries to act all tough and smart like tony. it only ends up making the kidnappers more angry with him, and they hurt him more.
after this, tony has a heart to heart with peter about all this, sort of an expansion on the classic “I just wanted to be like you / I wanted you to be better” moment from Homecoming, where he explains to him that he likes him just the way he is, and the reason he’s been so distant is because he doesn’t want to rub off on him.
peter explains that the reason he’s doing all that in the first place is he wants tony to be proud of him, and think he’s worth his time.
from there, they start to open up to each other.

super brainrotted headcanon:
tony wears chunky shoes to make him seem taller when he’s in public and around the rest of the Avengers (inspired by the fact that RDJ wears these thickass shoes in the movies). but, when he’s working with peter in the lab, he just wears normal sneakers because Peter’s shorter than him so he doesn’t care, and all his insecurities feel a little less heavy when he’s just killing time with his teenager
also Tony wears New Balances. Idk. They just seem like the Audis of sneakers if that makes any sense at all
peter who has anxiety, who flinches at the smallest sounds, whose spider-sense goes haywire, even when he’s unconscious. peter who has chronic nightmares and wakes up crying in the middle of the night, covering his mouth so may doesn’t hear his sobs— she has work in the morning. peter who develops little systems as a means of survival, who carries around small comfort items and steals his aunt’s or his mentor’s clothes on those really bad days, who manages to take short naps during study hall and after school so he doesn’t collapse from exhaustion, sleeping just long enough to rest, waking up before it all gets to him.
peter who is determined to get through it all on his own, because that’s what he does.
tony who helps peter through his panic attacks, because he’s been there. tony who makes sure peter gets enough sleep no matter what; keeping the lab at the perfect temperature, binging a kids TV show from the 2010s on low volume, sitting pressed against his side so peter can feel there’s someone there looking out for him. tony who does everything in his power to reverse the damage, to make it better, but the problem never fully goes away. his first instinct is to run and hide away, remove himself from the equation, because it must be him who caused all this— but the kid needs him, and it’s the most he can do to stay, to endure, and to ease the pain.
tony who is determined to fix it, because that’s what he does.
tony who, despite himself, becomes a safe place for the kid, and peter who, despite himself, lets him.
One of my favorite headcanons that I almost forgot about: Peter is allergic to bug spray. In small doses, it just gives him a rash on his skin and an itchy throat, but if overexposed to it his airways can close and he can go into anaphylactic shock.
Tony may not be aware of this…
(this is a long winded way of saying write me some angst/hurt+comfort)
ned, harley, mj, and peter have a shared Minecraft world and it’s just absolute chaos in there
headcanon that peter prefers environments that are dark, quiet, and just a little chilly, partially because of the spider dna and partially because of how it gives his senses a break
