Australia’s Healthy Weight Week
Need some help keeping the momentum of those new year’s resolutions? Next week is Healthy Weight Week (15-21 Feb) and this year’s campaign is encouraging us all to get cooking at home more often.
When cooking at home you can control what goes into your meals and how much you serve up, so you’re more likely to eat healthier foods, like vegetables – and in the right amounts.
But being healthy doesn’t have to mean eating the same boring meals day-in, day-out.
Get inspired with healthy, delicious meal ideas by downloading the Everyday Healthy cookbooks from the Healthy Weight Week website. And make a personal pledge to cook during Australia’s Healthy Weight Week 2016, snap a pic of what you’ve cooked and post it on Instagram before 21 February 2016 using the hashtags #AHWW #cookingchallenge and follow @dietitians_association_aus to be in the draw to win a cooking class with a dietitian and celebrity cook! During Healthy Weight Week we will be kicking off our Move More Challenge, a six week team based walk/run event held every Wednesday between 6.30-8.30am and 4-6pm. Your team of 4 will choose to participate in either the 2km or 4km loop and aim to improve your time each week. We’ll keep track of your times and post them each week so you can keep track of how you’re progressing. Beginning on Weds 17th Feb, with a Dietitian available to answer nutrition questions.
