I just remembered through how many terrors and how much survivor guilt Isaac Dan Der Grimnebulin (from the book Perdido Street Station) . They can never make me hate him . NOBODY!!! He was a jerk and a coward at times? YES!!
BUT HE WENT THROUGH THAT HELL ANYWAY!! HE HAS SEEN HIS FRIEND BECOME BRAINLESS!! HAS BEEN BETRAYED TO THE MILITIA BY ANOTHER!!
HE HAD HIS WIFE, LIN , KIDNAPPED!!
And yes , I know they're described as lovers and not as a married couple, but your honour! I object! THEY ARE MARRIED YOUR HONOUR!!
I also know he wasn't the best lover at the beginning but brotha, IN THE END HE WAS READY TO FIGHT THAT ABOMINATION CALLED MR.MOTLEY AND AND A SLAKE MOTH BARE HANDED IF HE NEEDED TO!! JUST TO RESCUE HIS LOVELY KHEPRI WIFE!! EVEN IF HE WAS GOING TO DIE!!
I appreciate a lot of characters from Perdido Street Station, but I just remembered about Isaac and I simply had to share my thoughts and frustration and sadness and whatever else. I'm nearly on the verge of crying now I'm not even kidding.
Also please read Perdido Street Station, the whole Bas-Lag trilogy, please. It's worth it. I beg of you. There's no fandom for these books!! WHY!!?? WHY ARE THEY SO UNDERRATED???
I NEED PEOPLE TO TALK ABOUT IT TO AND I ALSO WANT PEOPLE TO READ THESE MASTERPIECES!!
