HI, with the Boycott Blizzard trends going on here’s some important things to note:
Please do not judge people for playing Blizzard’s games that they have already paid for, if they continue to spend money on Blizzard’s games then you can and should inform them of what Blizzard’s executives are doing and try to help them rethink feeding more money to that corporate monstrosity.
YOU CANNOT REFUND VIRTUAL BLIZZCON TICKETS AND THEY WERE SELLING THEM BEFORE BLITZCHUNG WAS BANNED/SUSPENDED.(https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/43877) article if u need proof) (while I’m not sure about physical blizzcon tickets please don’t judge people for something they bought before Blizzard showed it’s values of money > huamn rights)
There are ways to renew World of Warcraft subscriptions without spending actual irl money, so please don’t attack people thinking that they must still be giving blizzard money,
In addition to that some people bought multiple month long Starter Packs for WOW and it costs more money for Blizzard to have to support more servers for more people who aren’t buying anything.
Don’t judge people for still liking Overwatch/Starcraft/Warcraft/Diablo. They’re fun games made by good game developers that work for an awful company.
Activision Blizzard is an awful company, they’re against human rights, they’re very questionable with how they handle diversity and gay people playing their games (see when they forced a guild in wow to change their guild name after being mass reported by homophobes and it took 3 guild masters to fix, or tumblr user @fatgaymccree‘s similar issue with his ingame battle tag)
Please don’t blame the game developers???? Even as a fucking joke you idiots??? Especially since some of them are also protesting????
If you want to name drop anyone consider Robert A Kotick, ActivisionBlizzard’s CEO.
Now for the big thing: don’t stop protesting. At the moment there have been several movements done by fans (mainly artists) to turn Mei into a symbol of the Hong Kong revolution, as amazing as it is that she’s now being used on posters of the protesters on the front lines, Blizzard can remove Mei from Overwatch in China if she proves to be a problem, so if you have the ability to: go as far as you possibly can, turn the protoss into a symbol, turn Diablo into a symbol, turn fuckin the whole ass Horde into a symbol for the revolution.
Also this kinda goes without saying but don’t forgive Activision Blizzard for this shit, no matter how pretty Starcraft 3 or Diablo 4′s gonna be , it doesn’t change anything until they apologize and more importantly make changes.
If you are a streamer, an internet personality, know a blizzard employee, or literally can do anything to help, nothing is too small. Keep spreading the word: ActivisionBlizzard is against human rights.
(Also if u know a blizzard employee tell them to unionize probably idk im just a dumb millennial but that sounds like a good plan in my opinion)
Activision Blizzard is a corporation, and as shitty as it is: corporations only care about money, while this means that they will, most likely, never care more about human rights than money, we can make them pretend to care and make it the most economically sound thing for them to do by continuing to protest, boycott, and get their name filthy with dirt.
