Carell looked out the window at the wide expanse of desert. He hated this. Everything about it. He agreed to it, though it was under protest. Politically it was a good choice. An amazing choice, for both kingdoms. Personally it was a horrid choice.
A bump pulled Carell from his musings, and he glared toward the driver, though the man couldn’t see him. With a sigh Carell looked back at the landscape of nothing but rocks and sand. There was so little green and color, it made him a little home sick.
Again Carell was brought back to reality when a shadow covered them, though there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. Carell shifted, noting the change in the air, catching the distinct scent of water. It was obvious that they had made it to their destination so Carell wrapped the illusion around him again. He could feel it settle in place like a second skin as the carriage jerked to a stop and the door opened.
