For Heartship, I'd imagine that Yugi and Ryou would stave off boredom during necessary supermarket trips by coming up with creepy explanations for everything they need. Like if they have to buy detergent and they'd nonchalantly be all, "Okay, but the label doesn't tell us how effective it is at washing blood off concrete." Or if they're buying meat, "Do you think this'll be enough to appease the dark lord or will we still have to hunt for something fresher?" "Hmm... Hard to tell."
