Have you ever thought about an Au where Dogman gets amnesia and goes feral?

I actually haven’t thought about an AU like this, though it does sound interesting! Amnesia AUs (and just the trope/idea in general) is one that I’m pretty 50/50 on in terms of enjoyment. There are so many angles one could do, but it just sometimes misses the mark.

Same thing with Dog Man going feral. I love the concept! I really do, but I fear I’m going too far with it, you know? I’m not usually one to care if I go a little OOC with characters, but this is like the one exception. I would feel weird about going over the top.

Okay, so I believe there are two reasons why Petey wears clothes: when he needs to conform to social standards/disguise himself and when he wishes to express himself.

In Mother Heights when he is being interviewed by Sarah, his suit was him conforming to social standards. When we humans go in for a job interview or just an interview of any kind, we dress up a bit because that’s what we’ve deemed as appropriate. So Petey does that too.

When he needs to disguise himself, he dresses in whatever way will best conceal his identity. Whether or not he actually likes or not doesn’t matter.

But then there’s when he wishes to express himself. Like when he’s out dancing, or dressing in drag, or whatever! These outfits are specially picked out and he always makes sure they are comfortable and fit his exact tastes and styles. So when he dresses up, he’s dressing up HARD! He goes all out because he can.

Petey wears both suits and dresses but stays away from pants. He doesn’t mind skirts, but doesn’t wear them very often. HE LOVES JEWELRY! Even if he doesn’t wear a lot of jewelry, he keeps them in a safe spot and sometimes just takes them out just to admire them. He DEFINITELY draws the line at shoes! Shoes are only for when it’s absolutely necessary or he can justify it with the outfit he’s wearing. Makeup is 50/50. He likes it, but doesn’t always wear it, even when he does drag. Though he definitely fucks with some good winged eyeliner!

Some dogman headcanons in the Bad Romance Au

Hello anonymous! Thanks for your lovely ask! I’m going to assume you mean which headcanons I am applying to the Bad Romance AU so that’s how I’m going to answer!

Also please keep in mind that this AU is still a WIP and may change over time.

Okay, so the most prominent headcanon is the Dog Man speaks sign language one and it’s going to be his only way of communicating with others.

One that is being set up is the mixed vocal cords headcanon, which suggests that Dog Man possesses some of Knight’s vocal cords mixed in with his own. This will be explored later.

Finally, this may not really be a headcanon thing, but I’m thinking about incorporating the idea of Li’l Petey having both Petey’s AND Dog Man’s DNA, so he’s a cloned kid of both of them. But that’s not guaranteed.

And that’s all for now! Again, this AU is a WIP, so I’m sure I’ll apply more headcanons in the future. But thanks again for the ask anonymous!

Okay, to answer your question, I honestly haven’t thought about it too much, but probably not. Since the Blazing Glory AU is based in the Wild West and is based on old western movies and such, it’s likely just going to be a lot of guns and horses, lol. If I was going for a more steampunk style, I probably would have kept Petey as an inventor, but that is not the case. I mostly want Blazing Glory to be like a character study, if that makes sense. I want to focus mainly on their personalities and their actions rather than staying true to the original canon.

Been thinking about your genius au lately, specifically about Petey's "true form"

Ah, Genius AU, my beloved!

You know, I never got around to posting about this but I have a good analogy or comparison for Petey’s true alien form.

If you’ve ever seen Men in Black 2, the alien Serleena is kind of what I was thinking about with Genius Petey. Of course, Petey’s alien form will be different from hers, but the idea is still the same!

Ah, hello moot! Thanks for the ask!

1.) My secondary project (title still pending) is a 14+ fantasy adventure that follows the lives of three (eventually four) creatures as they try to navigate through life and hardship. It follows Lance, a dragon who lost his voice in a tragic work accident and is now trying to navigate his life and job after the fact, Simonne, a villainous cat type species (details still pending) who is just wants respect and validation, and Tori, an artic fox based wolpertinger who's an ex-inventor trying to find herself again. It's a story of regrets, pain friendship, hope, and redemption! It's a story about seeing the beauty in the world, even when things look ugly!

I want to talk more about this and my main project Rules and Roses (placeholder title) but I've been in the Dog Man mindset lately, so it's been hard to find the energy to work on them. But if anyone wants to hear more about my original project, I'll be more than happy to talk about them (without too many spoilers, of course!)

Fun Fact: Dog Man actually inspired my secondary project and you will see a lot of parallels and similarities between the two!

2.) Not really. He knows that they were once a modeling duo (due to word of mouth) but he doesn't know the extent of it or how badly that life affected Swap!Dog Man. At least for now. He's more focused on trying to stop Swap!Dog Man's evil schemes at this point in time.
