I don’t really have any major influence on the inter webs but I want to share this thought and I hope we can get it (or something similar) to spread:

What if we started trending #hearus along with #theysilencedyou and #theysilencedthem?

I am so concerned that we will be brushed off as disgruntled shippers that are upset because we didn’t get our ship. Y’all have said it a million times and I’ll say it again: it’s MORE than a ship.

Sure we are upset about how destiel was handled in the end (excluding the confession of course) but it’s SO MUCH MORE. Its about Dean and the story ending he deserved. It’s about Sam and the story ending he deserved. I could go on.

We are all real people with our own stories and I think we should take this unique opportunity to share. To make them hear us. The SPN Family is huge and I feel like our relationship with the cast and crew is unique. Let’s use that. Misha said he is listening. Let’s see if we can get others to listen to us too.

I know a lot of people are already tweeting/posting their stories and their reasons for actually disliking the ending. But let’s get another hashtag trending! One that asks them to please HEAR US. To hear how his show has impacted us and why we believe the ending failed to give us peace.

Thank you @Olutimehin, @AishaYesufu, @FaeeBB, @OlufunkeBaruwa, @AyodejiOsowobi, and @julietkego for being the first six in our #16DaysofActivism. 10 days to go! This has really been the year of the woman, and in more negative than positive ways (depending on what side of the fence you're on). At risk of livelihood and face in the society, women have chronicled instances of abuse, situations in which they were denied agency of their bodies and emotions. My heart goes out to all these women, sending them light, love, and all the support they need. And so when the opportunity rolled around to make strong statements on the Elimination of Violence Against Women, @TechHerNG had to jump in on it! And because there is strength in the collective, we're running this series with our friends at @StandtoEndRape and @NewsWireNGR.
