WHAT HAPPENS TONIGHT

My ultimate genie wish fantasy: Connor is nervous during the opening monologue Hudson comes out at says “ we are good here, your family is here, your boyfriend is here… We are good here” and lifts his chin and kisses him…. Then just walks away …
But do I get what I want? No 😭 do I win the lottery every day? No 😭 do my fav boy kisser actors make out in front of national television tonight? No 😭😭
Before the Vegas Bathroom Scene(TM), Ilya has never read the New Yorker. But after Shane tells him that his dad loves it, Ilya finds himself… curious. He comes across an edition in one of the many hotel lobbies the team stays in, and just picks it up.
Fast forward a few months (years) later and Ilya is an AVID reader. He has favorite journalists and reads all the op-eds, finding that he has really strong opinions about many things he normally would never have thought about otherwise. He does the puzzles daily and even though he sometimes has to translate the clues into Russian, they’re *really* helping his English.
Of course, he never mentions any of this to Shane. So, it’s something of a shock to Shane that after he and Yuna go back into his parents’ cottage on That Day (the one where everyone found out), he walks in on Ilya and David having an argument—because there’s really no other word for it—over something written in one of the advice columns, for fuck’s sake.
And Shane can’t stop smiling, because he really can’t believe this gets to be his life now.
What's a girl to write for merfolk!AU?
I have approximately 573 words written, but I still have leeway to write this as Shane is captured and is relocated to a facility that acts as a rehabilitation center (for endangered or severely injured species) / learning center (marine mammal/ichthyologist biologists & civilians) and Shane is meant to be essentially Ilya's mental health companion to help ease the feral and neglected mer (Ilya) and they are later mated and then released once Ilya is fully healed and Shane takes him to his pod. (Idk, do you guys want mpreg with this lmfao)

Romeo/Juliet type of relationship mer-relationship. I was basically going to make this a type of Warriors theme with the opposing clans (pods) but ohhh noooooo, they're both seducing each other without realizing it and they're absolutely fucked if either of their pods find out, so they're just meeting up every time it's their turn on rotation to hunt for their pods (the drama of Shane accidentally getting knocked up lmfao)
I'm a sucker for creature!AU and let them play for real mermaids in Shane's lake at his cottage.
