The herbaceous perennial Symphyotrichum ericoides var. prostratum 'Snow Flurry' (heath aster) produces tumbling stems covered in tiny white daisy shaped flowers. These ground-hugging stems are much branched and can form a low sprawling cushion. Plants are useful for the edge of a border or given space to perform in a container.

This herbaceous perennial produces horizontal flowering stems with fine foliage and can be used as ground-cover in a border. But Symphyotrichum ericoides var. prostratum 'Snow Flurry' (heath aster) is useful cascading over a container with the stems smothered in tiny white flowers.

Sitting on the sales bench of the The Walled Nursery, Kent, UK, were a display of the autumn flowering herbaceous perennials including Symphyotrichum laeve 'Orpheus' (aster) with darks stems covered in spays of lavender-blue flowerheads, and Symphyotrichum ericoides ‘Pink Star’ (heath aster) with branching stems covered with light pink, starry flowers.
