Cambridge BioMarketing
This past January, M Doucette Production was hired to produce a photoshoot for Cambridge BioMarking, a full-service advertising and communications agency serving pharmaceutical and biotech clients. The concept was to shoot four models walking a tightrope up in the sky...easy enough, right? We produced the job in it’s entirety—from finding the right photographer, and studio location, to casting models, sourcing hair/makeup and wardrobe stylists as well as coordinating post-production retouching. Take a look behind the scenes to see how we pulled it all together. And check back soon for the final images!
First stop, the casting couch. Michele saw over 150 models to fill just 4 slots. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it ;)
Each model was asked to use their imagination and walk across a 'tightrope'. Some pictured molten lava beneath their feet, others a vast canyon. What would you picture to get into character?
Load-in time. The crew showed up bright and early to prep the set, from lighting to wardrobe (and a pair of nameless shoes).
Why is the sky blue, you ask? We're not sure, but our wardrobe wears it well!
Anchor Artist’s Kathleen Schiffmann gives our littlest model some powder before she takes the stage.
All hands on deck. It's time to kick this shoot into gear!
Stylist Rina and Assistant Producer, Matthew showing some Blue Steel realness on set...whoops that didn't last too long!
Quiet on the set! Photographer Heather checks her framing while model John waits for some notes.
And with a little help of photo magic (digital compositing), we were able to drop our models high in the sky. Hey Erik, don't look down!
That's a wrap! Thanks to our amazing team of creatives who made it all possible.

We spent a couple days roaming around Boston and seeing the awesome sights. Thadds friend, Heather, showed us some rad parks she likes to do photoshoots in, took us to a great thai restaurant and was so insanely nice, plus a ridiculously talented photographer. We left in the evening to drive to Philadelphia so we wouldn't get stuck in traffic. Success! No NYC traffic or really any at all. We got pulled over in bumfuck nowhere because of a brake light so we made it outside Philadelphia around 3 am and passed out cold. Philadelphia has been so rad. First stop was for Thadd to see the Mercer Museum then I went to the Mütter Museum which was so fucking cool. We've eaten amazing vegan Philly Cheese Steak, pizza and the best milkshakes hands down. Ahhh road trips are the best.

Family is really a pretty amazing thing, especially in the cycling world. This is why it should be no surprise that Corinne and Katty Walsh, sisters of Marty Walsh, the famous/infamous neon-overlord and owner/builder at Geekhouse Bikes, would ride nothing less than some brightly colored steeds of their brothers design. Over the summer, the ever talented Heather McGrath took some shots of them with their bikes down by the ICA. All I can say is WOW. Everything about these photos is fantastic (and my lovely girlfriend, Corinne, looks AMAZING!).
Head on over to the post at Geekhouse Bikes for more.
