Horray for finishing! I love the gold powder I used in this painting; it's much stronger than gold paint, but easier to manipulate than gold leaf. It worked much better than I thought it would. My new painting "Shoot the Wolf" for my show "impermanance". It's very shiny and hard to photograph, so you should definitely come see it in person if at all possible. I found some cool diagrams for making shadow puppets and really loves the wolf hands. I'll probably use more of these shadow hands in the future. I only have 2 and a half weeks until my work goes up for my solo show @mcguffeyartcenter . I've been way too busy and stressed to even think about posting, but it's down to the final details and a few final images. I'm doing more with collage and mixed media than I have in my previous work and I love the process of applying all the little things I find to my paintings. I've nearly finished laying all these iridescent hexagons on one of twin compositions that will be in the show. I like how they line up perfectly in some places then get undone into chaos. It is so hard for me to find studio time without staying up too too late for my morning loving self, but I am falling into a goos rhythm of evening work just as my time to work is running out. Getting work together for solo shows always makes me hungry for the next big project. It turns out you can paint with a baby in your lap. I'm not sure I'll be able to do much work in the coming months, but I've dound time to do some much needed studies.
