Full disclosure: even as an adult who appreciates Torchman far more than years prior, I still am a much bigger Heatman-fan than a Torchman-fan. I'm not sorry.

If there was ever a tragic character in the show, it was Heatman. The more you think about it, the sadder it becomes, honestly. Even if you ignore every implication behind what is shown (Him being a strongly restrained personal project of Mr. Famous, Mr. Match calling him "Torchman" when they merge the data with Heatman, the f-ing Japanese version robbing him of his one victory in life, etc.), they guy still lived for a single year! One and a half, tops! And then he was just used up to bring back the Navi he was a placeholder to. God, Heatman deserved so much better. I remember when I first saw that b-made Axess episode, I was genuinely grieving and just. So. Damn. Angry!

... Yet despite that, I do believe that his story hits the hardest if he truly is gone, especially if I want to make a fanfic one day with World Three. (You'll see for Torch's headcanon...) Maybe one day I'll mellow out like most normal fans, and I'll just say "he survived actually, and is just chilling in Mr. Match's PET somewhere!". But for now, from a story-building standpoint... my gremlin baby must be gone. And it breaks my heart.

(No, I will never in the history of ever forgive the shitty Japanese version for robbing him of his victory over Freezeman. Good on the American version for cutting that BS out!)

Ranting aside, I'm actually referencing an older comic of mine called "Flash in the Pan", one that I'm... actually still mostly pretty happy with! If I were to ever digitalize that, I'd probably just add a few more lines and panels, maybe change the camera angle at some parts, but the story itself would mostly remain unchanged.

Also, I still believe this soundtrack somehow fits Heatman best despite his fiery combative nature. Don't ask me why, it got stuck in my head.
