This was an absolutely gorgeous story. It broke my heart in all the best ways and I'm not sure I'll be the same.
I made this book as my part of a trade with @mysteriousmothbooks . I was really into the Fairytale vibes as well as the concept of a caged bird. So I ran with that haha. The typeset had a bit of Fairytale vibes. And as for the case/box. There were so many things I wanted to try. It was in my mind from day 1 to do a concept of a bird trapped in a cage that we let free. So I decided to pick up a new skill I had never done before and try my hand at embroidery. I absolutely adore books that cover embroidery so I had to try it for myself. Shout-out to @baudelaireslibrary and @bythecrow for your amazing embroidery work that inspired me.
For the cage I wanted it to be incorporated in the box. You can see the bird through the box/cage and when you open it you let the bird free. I followed the amazing tutorials from @thebinarybookbinder patreon page and love how easy they were to follow. It definitely fave me confidence to pull off this box.
Anyway I put a lot of love into this and while it's not perfect. I'm so so proud.
