WHAT WAS THE FIC?!!

This farscape au where John stays as a statue after Look At The Princess Pt. 2 and obvi everyone’s paths cross again during a space war (my jam) and Aeryn has a daughter (my jammm) and John and Aeryn have a complicated past and technically it’s an affair (my jammmmm) and it’s kind angsty and wrong (so, so my jam) and they want to be together but they can’t because space war and … yada yada, no spoilers, it’s very good. And there is a hopeful if not entirely happy ending.

*hugs back* Thank you! My situation has improved a little bit. I still need to rush across the border to Hong Kong next week, but it looks like my company will reimburse me. Of course, I will need to accept said company’s offer, so I’m hoping that we reach an agreement by the end of this week, but yes. Speeding across the border and spending 2-3 days on a rush visa package and then walking across the border into China and taking the 22 hour train ride back to Beijing from Shenzhen because it costs 1/4 of the airfare cost and my company is paying me nearly nothing for my last paycheck, so I really don’t have the money for a flight there *and* a flight back. Isn’t that cheerful? I’m thinking of it as a pleasant tour of nearly all of east China.

Honestly when I feel really bad and need to watch something nice and comfy I watch The Enchanted World of Brambly Hedge. (Pumuckl is super entertaining though.)

I think it's a mark of how bad morale has gotten at this company that sometimes Edith and I watch this together from opposite ends of Beijing. I can't imagine that explaining a non-subtitled children's cartoon to me can be fun, but she seems to delight in translating so I'm like okay??? She keeps telling me she’s going to get the me the outfit to wear with my hair hahaha.

But yes, My Little Pony is good for this very reason! Like every day is saved by the power of friendship, how lovely!

I like it too. I want to feel like a superhero right now, tbh. I need it. My poor new roommate is very confused, though. When she met me for the first time yesterday, my hair was a completely different color. Her English is okay, and my Chinese is worse, and we were sitting there trying to explain things to each other hahaha.

MY JOB SERIOUSLY HAS NO CHILL. THEY NEED SO MUCH CHILL OMFG. But yeah, the company’s basically going into the ground, so yay I’m getting out! Possibly of the country. But that’ll only be for a little while. I have no idea what’s going on.

Thanks. The interview went pretty well and lasted twice as long as it should. If they ask me for references tomorrow, I'll have gone on to the next round. They however did tell me at length about my visa and how that process would work. I don't know if that's a good sign or not.

If it makes you feel better, I have that guilt complex too and I'm not even Catholic. But yeah, pretty much no amount of proof can convince me that not everything is my fault.

Yeah, it's one of those situations where you do the right thing, and it still kind of sucks for you, but it sucks less than the other way around? *sigh* I normally love being in my 20's. Today is not one of those days. Or those weeks. <3 Thanks for your support.

Probably not much at all! I think once I'm done rewatching The X Files that's what I'm gonna do! I think last research I may actually skipped some of those episodes cos Paula was watching it for the 1st time & skipped the S4 eps without Aeryn lol.

Oh no, she’s seen them now right? I stan Aeryn as much as anyone else but skipping the Aeryn-less episodes is definitely a mistake.  Particularly What Was Lost which probably rends my heart more than any other episode.  (Obviously the vomit mountain episode can be skipped quite easily but there are some fun bits in it)

Exactly! I think they talk about that on one of the commentaries, probably the Thank God It’s Friday Again one, with Anthony Simcoe talking about how he really didn’t want to be the Worf guy and the writers saying that they didn’tt realize how much more potential there was to the character until they started seeing what Anthony could do with him.  But yeah the moping over Chiana/Jothee gets old pretty quickly.
