Lance walked back and forth in front of the Black Lion, gulping as he looked up at it. Dammit why the hell did Shiro have to disappear? And why the fuck did Keith have to leave, run away? Dammit he didn’t want to do this again, he didn’t want to deal with Black rejecting him again. Damn Keith.

        Azure hues blink open as the heart monitor in the room begins to beep a tick faster. Her attention is immediately focused on Keith, tucked into his hospital bed, who seems to have woken from his previous slumber. He twitches, as if he might try and sit up, but Acxa is quickly at his bedside. A hand gently settles upon his shoulder in an attempt to urge him still. 

                   “Careful. You’re still healing,”

          DRIFT COMPATIBILITY. for the past several years, ina had been his partner in the cockpit. she would still be his partner if not for “family complications” ( he hasn’t gotten clarification on what that meant, but he hasn’t bothered asking either---none of his business, really ).

          it’s a bit strange switching partners now; he’s open to the idea, but he’s not all to sure if he’d like it. he has already shared his memories, his utmost SECRETS buried deep, with someone---and to allow another person, a stranger at that, in? he has some pride. 

          but they insist. he’s one of their best fighter pilots, and they need him to be out there. they’ve tried matching him with two others already---didn’t work out. and now they’ve brought in keith kogane. third time’s the CHARM, they say. he sincerely doubts it but figures it wouldn’t hurt to try.  “------you were drift compatible with someone else.”  he doesn’t know much about keith, but he’s FAIRLY certain the other had a partner at one time.  “what happened to them?”

     “ their FACES must have been PRICELESS. ”      rue says, gentle amusement prodding at her silent companion a soft smile accompanying at the prompt ( worried because she’d tailed kress long enough before their ALLIANCE to know the boy from ONE was his FIRST ). she too tries to not feel responsible on her part for not noticing the cleverly placed net --- she can see it now in her memory, the too clear ground, the uneasiness in her gut she’s shaken off as apprehension FAMILIAR in the arena.

The boy stared ahead when he heard someone walking towards him and Parker felt himself TENSE up and he quickly glanced over his shoulder, finally relaxing when he saw who it was. Parker turned his head and let out small SIGH, " Hey, Kress...", Parker hasn't seen Kress around lately, his sister was AVOIDING him, and he really couldn't blame her, "You really hurt her you know." He couldn't help but burt out before he turned a bit red when realized what he said,"S-Sorry, just FORGET what I said." The gray eyed boy looked down at his torn up shoes, he hated seeing his big sister hurt but he didn't mean to blurt out anything.
