Reaction and non-reaction to the police shootings of Latinos in the U.S." is a multi-part exploration of national and local community reaction to some of the lethal police shootings of Latinos that have taken place in 2015, along with a look at the numbers nationally and a glimpse of Latino-police relations in Philadelphia.

Looking into more information about Hector Morejon, and my heart just hurts. I look at his pictures, and all I can see are my little brothers... This is why Latinos need to stand up with the uprisings in Ferguson and Baltimore. Times like these we can not afford to be silent. Police brutality affects us too. We need reform. We need change. We need to support and strengthen the voices of the black community or else we are just a bunch of hypocrites.

Jessie Hernandez allegedly tried to run over a cop, Andy Lopez allegedly tried to shoot down a cop w/ his BB gun and Hector Morejon allegedly tried to kill a cop w/ his imaginary shotgun. are mestizx/latinx even allowed to live w/out being criminalized? i guess we’re all just illegal and murders aren’t we?
