🐑“I Saw My Sheep Suffer and Said ‘Les Would Too.’”

(Aka: This is what happens when you observe nature too closely.)

Okay, so, first things first: I do NOT own these characters!!

Les and Hed belong to @zivazivc @fihuli , who is an incredible artist and writer. You can really tell how much thought and care go into these characters 🧡. So I just wanted to give something back by drawing them.

Now the lore behind this...

I was out working around the farm, dealing with berry bushes (you know… the evil thorny ones that fight back), and my sheep (Walliser Schwarznase, also known as Valais Blacknose) were just happily munching on them. Meanwhile, the twigs with thorns were getting stuck in their fur. And I was standing there like, “…Wow. That’s annoying.”

And then it hit me.... Les.

Les would have this exact problem. So obviously, I had to draw him with one of these fluffy chaos magnets. But then I was like “Okay, but Hed needs to be here too.” So now he’s just… on the horn. Is it safe?

Also, these sheep are from Switzerland, the Alps... and the second I thought about that, I was like:

So yeah, this is now somehow part of my headcanon. I created two versions since I couldn't choose.

Anyway, thank you again for creating and sharing these characters, they’re genuinely so fun and inspiring, and I just wanted to give a little something back 🧡.

Okay, also, one more thing: I really tried to get all their details right. But the nose ring? Yeah, no, that angle and I were not getting along, so guess what, Les is simply not wearing it today, he lost that privilege✨.

And the necklace, listen, in my defense, the sheep would absolutely eat it, so I made the executive decision to tuck it into his shirt for his own safety.

But I promise I did my homework, I was out here scrolling, zooming in, staring at your art, and going back again to check details. (Yeah, I noticed depending on their age, they have different details, well done). And like, I have seen your posts at least 20 times now 😭, so if anything is off, just know it’s a mix of:
