Out of random curiosity, do you have any headcanons for long-term effects Floyd might have had from the whole being trapped and having his life essence stolen thing?

My own personal headcanons: - chronic joint pain (honestly, this one is 90% projection as that's something i deal with myself but watching him be casually thrown around in that bottle, i'd imagine some physical damage from that.) - Easily exhausted, occasionally to the point of lightheadedness and even fainting. More likely to happen after performing or in general pushing himself too hard but on rare occasions his body might just nope out that day. (To this i propose... floyd gets a service animal au... which totally isn't my personal selfship au but y'know. Aside from that i think it's genuinely a fun idea to play around with.)

💎 Long-Term Effects Of Floyd’s Diamond Prison 💀✨

(aka: there is NO WAY this man walked out completely fine)

This ask is interesting, because I think people underestimate how horrifying Floyd’s situation actually was. Like yes: ✨ colorful movie ✨ sparkles ✨ pop star drama

But this man spent two months trapped in a diamond bottle while his life essence was literally being drained... And mentally? I genuinely do not think Floyd believed he was getting out. Because look at his reaction when his brothers arrive. He’s not focused on himself. He’s focused on them. He is scared for them.

Which makes me think Floyd had already settled into, “This is how I die.” And that mindset alone would leave scars. Let's dive in.

⚡ Physical Effects

I love the chronic pain and exhaustion headcanons because they make a lot of sense. Especially since Floyd gets:

thrown around constantly

trapped in cramped positions

shaken around inside that bottle for 2 months

Sir was emotionally tortured and physically handled like a glitter snow globe. So I could absolutely see:

chronic pain

joint issues

muscle weakness

dizziness

random exhaustion crashes

Not just, “Oh, I’m sleepy.”

I mean the kind of exhaustion where your body suddenly decides “Absolutely not” and stops cooperating. The idea that performing too hard could trigger exhaustion episodes hurts because Floyd would 100% still try to push through it... Because Floyd feels like the kind of troll who says, “I’m okay,” while actively collapsing.

☔ Psychological Effects

This is where I think things get really bad. Because for two months Floyd existed as:

something trapped

something watched

something people took from

That changes your brain... Because of that, I could absolutely see:

sleep problems

panic in confined spaces

flinching when grabbed unexpectedly

forcing himself to stay useful

over-apologizing

guilt over needing help

Because Floyd already seems like someone who naturally puts other trolls first. And after the diamond prison? That instinct probably gets even worse.

🌈 The Weirdly Forgiving Part

And this is what makes me stare directly at Floyd. Because despite EVERYTHING… Veneer finally confesses and does the right thing at the end. And Floyd? HE NODS AT HIM 😭💀. SIR, ARE YOU OKAY???

Like genuinely. This man spent months imprisoned and drained, and his response is basically: “Thank you for finally stopping.” I mean... what?!

Because I think Floyd is deeply compassionate to a fault. Not because he isn’t traumatized. But because he understands what it’s like to feel trapped.

🌍 And Then He Has To Process Everything Else

The diamond prison itself is probably only half the emotional damage. Because once Floyd gets out? The entire world, he thought, he knew is now completely different. I already made a whole theory about Floyd’s: “What The Hell Happened While I Was Away” list

because this man suddenly has to process: 👉 Bergens 👉 Trollstice 👉 Grandma eaten 👉 Branch growing up alone 👉 the Troll Tree being gone (or at least it's not their home anymore) 👉 Bruce multiplying into a small nation 👉 random new pink royalty friend named Viva 😭

I think realizing what happened to Branch would destroy Floyd the most. Because, unlike John Dory, Floyd never really defends himself. When he sees Branch again, he just says: 💔 “Branch? Is it really you?” Like he genuinely did not expect to ever see him again 😭

🐾 Also… The Service Animal AU Is Adorable

I’m sorry, but the service animal idea genuinely works so well✨. Because Floyd feels like someone who would benefit from:

grounding

routine

emotional comfort

something that reminds him he’s safe

The image of Floyd slowly learning, “I don't have to survive everything alone anymore,” might actually be one of the saddest and sweetest things imaginable.

✨ Conclusion

I don’t think Floyd’s story after Band Together is: ✨“And now everything is fixed!” (Even though I'm fully aware that's kinda how Dreamworks seems to handle things in this universe...)

I think his recovery includes learning how to rest, learning how to exist without constantly giving parts of himself away, and learning that people love him for HIM, not just for what he can provide.

Because even after everything, he still chooses compassion, he still worries about others first, and he still responds to the world with gentleness

For me, Floyd feels like the kind of troll who survives terrible things and then immediately asks everyone else if they’re okay.

Actually... It caught me completely by accident.

I saw that “Hello darkness my old friend” clip on YouTube with Branch just dramatically suffering and then casually throwing the guitar in, and I was like… oh. This is my exact sense of humor.

So I ended up watching more 'just to see what it was' and then things escalated very quickly.

Funny thing is, there was already someone else in my house who liked Trolls, so I technically knew of it before, but I didn’t really engage with it properly until last year. And now I’m… yeah, fully in it. Like, actually obsessed 😭

So imagine this: Branch is still grey. Still bunker-mode. Still emotionally locked tighter than a glitter vault. And then, somehow, accidentally or out of pure Poppy curiosity, she finds out he used to be part of BroZone.

💥 Poppy.exe Crashes Immediately

Because to Poppy, this information is INSANE. You’re telling her that:

Branch… the anti-singing troll

Branch… the 'no fun allowed' guy

Branch… that Branch …was in a boyband??

Her brain: “This is misinformation. Fake news. Lies.”

She is NOT letting this go. Poppy goes full detective mode:

Poppy’s entire approach to Branch shifts. Because suddenly he’s not just 'grumpy Branch.' He’s someone who lost everything and decided feeling nothing was safer. And Poppy??? She takes that personally.

You KNOW this girl is not letting that stand. But here’s where it gets interesting: Instead of just throwing random happiness at him… She starts being more intentional.

he had a family

And he’s terrified she’ll expect him to be that again. So instead of opening up, he doubles down: “That’s not me anymore.”

Poppy absolutely, 100%, would have tried to get BroZone back together mid-grey era.

Like: “What if we just… find your brothers??”

If Poppy knew about BroZone earlier:

First of all, calling Chaz a 'dramatic fossil' is so accurate I need a moment 😭. And YES, I absolutely have thoughts on ALL of this.

Let’s start with Chaz because… wow. Chaz is not just evil. Chaz is:

✨ dramatic ✨ lonely ✨ deeply unserious but also kind of sad

Like this man really said: “I will steal your mind so people have to listen to me.” Which is… a choice. But also??? That screams: "No one listened to me before.”

So... Can we fix him?

Unfortunately…

Yes.

And that’s the problem 😔. Because Chaz feels like the kind of character who:

never learned how to connect properly

performs confidence but is actually insecure

wants attention but doesn’t know how to earn it in a healthy way

Give him:

And he would fold IMMEDIATELY. He is not beyond saving. He is just… a mess.

✨The Reggaeton Trio, The Chill Power Dynamic

Now the Reggaeton Trio? They fascinate me, because compared to other groups, they feel effortlessly confident. They’re not loud about power. They don’t over-explain themselves. They just exist like: “Yeah. We’re good.” Which gives them this vibe of:

emotional stability

mutual understanding

zero need to prove anything

They feel like a group that already figured themselves out.

✨ The K-Pop Gang, Perfection Under Pressure

And then we have the K-Pop Gang… Which is basically the opposite energy. They are:

But that level of perfection? Does not come for free. They might be one of the most pressured groups in the Trolls world. Because their whole identity is built on:

There’s probably an unspoken rule of: “Don’t mess up.” Which is a LOT.

Yes. Will it be easy? Absolutely not. Will he cause problems the entire time? Without a doubt.

I don't know if this means anything or not but there's a commercial from McDonald's promoting world tour back then in which they show the leaders of each tribe, but with the funk trolls they showed Quincy, not essence, not even Darnell just Quincy, again I don't know if this means anything but what do you think?

Okay, so I had to actually go look this up because I had NEVER seen this before. And now I have… thoughts.

So in this World Tour McDonald’s commercial, they show the leaders of each tribe (and Tiny Diamond). Normal, right? Except for the Funk Trolls, they chose Quincy. Not Essence. Not even both of them. Just Quincy. Which is… interesting.

😎 Is He the Leader??

I know some people take this as: “Was Quincy originally meant to be the main Funk leader?” But... I don’t think the commercial is that deep lore-wise.

📈The Marketing Braincell Explanation

Here’s my very realistic take: this was a visual balance decision, not a lore one. Because if you look at the lineup, you already have:

multiple female-presenting leaders grouped visually

strong, bold designs close together

And if they added Essence into that exact shot? It might start reading less like 'different tribes' and more like 'girl group lineup'. Which marketing teams are VERY aware of.

So what do they do? They swap in Quincy and add balance to the lineup. Boom. Problem solved.

✨The Vibe Over Accuracy Rule

Also important: Commercials are not always canon-accurate. They follow what reads clearly in 2 seconds on screen. So even if Essence is arguably just as important (if not MORE in leadership terms)… Quincy might have just been the easier pick for that specific shot.

😌The Slightly Petty Take

BUT... It does accidentally fuel the whole “Who was actually in charge of the Funk Trolls first??” discussion. Because now we have:

the movie giving us both Quincy & Essence

fans debating leadership

and then a RANDOM commercial going: ✨ “Quincy :)”

So I don’t think this was meant to confirm Quincy as the leader. It was probably:

In most media, attractiveness is very visual. But in Trolls? It feels way more tied to:

personality

confidence

energy

and especially music

Like… characters don’t get attention because they look a certain way. They get attention because of how they express themselves.

😘 Hair = Identity = Appeal

Hair in the Trolls universe is everything. It’s not just style, it’s:

So instead of 'fashion' being the main thing… Hair becomes part of what makes someone attractive. If someone’s hair is:

This is the BIG one. Music isn’t just culture in Trolls. It’s basically emotional language. So being attractive might actually be tied to:

OKAY SO.... If attraction in the Trolls universe is based on:
