random jotaro headcanons #3: stardust crusaders edition
15. Jotaro had never left Japan prior to the events of Stardust Crusaders - after the Egypt trip was over, traveling internationally constantly gave Jotaro anxiety, which later worsened into hodophobia (fear of travel)
Jotaro hunted for Stand Arrows on the American and Asian continents because they were the most familiar and felt safest to travel...but the hunt didn't last long -
Jotaro's hodophobia quickly grew so severe that he stopped traveling anywhere outside of North America or Japan (and by the time of Stone Ocean, he had stopped traveling to Japan too)
this is why he never went after Polnareff or Giorno himself
16. Kakyoin and Jotaro only roomed together once during the crusade, the day before the Yellow Temperance encounter - afterwards, Kakyoin always roomed with Polnareff, while Jotaro roomed with Joseph and Avdol
the teenagers got into a heated argument that night, creating a sore spot between them that was never fully reconciled (even though both tried to be amicable to each other from then on)
the next morning, Kakyoin went for a walk to give himself space from Jotaro, giving Rubber Soul the perfect opportunity to take his place
nobody but them knows what the argument was about
17. Jotaro fully intended to compensate the boy whose popsicle he took - unfortunately, the aftermath of the Rubber Soul fight caused panic in the area, forcing Jotaro to flee so he couldn't get arrested by the local authorities
18. Jotaro is oddly fireproof - somehow, he did not get a single burn after Wheel of Fortune set his entire body, from the inside out, on fire
The only evidence that Jotaro had been set on fire was his bullet wounds, which were apparently cauterized as they had stopped bleeding by the time he emerged from underground
19. Jotaro bears resemblance to Polnareff's sister, Chérie - primarily through his bright blue eyes, dark curly hair, and introverted nature
this is why Polnareff always remained fond of Jotaro throughout their trip, even though Jotaro was initially quite cold towards him and shrugged off his earlier attempts to be friendly
it was after learning of the resemblance that Jotaro became gentler to Polnareff and more receptive to his friendship - this then developed into a brotherly bond that would endure past the crusade

21. despite eventually developing a friendship with every Crusader, Jotaro still kept the others from getting truly close to him (with the exception of Joseph and Iggy)
22. While Jotaro had gotten into serious fights before getting his Stand, the crusade to Egypt was his first time facing life-or-death stakes...
...and thanks to the natural attraction of Stand users to each other (plus the extensiveness of DIO's influence), this lifestyle of constantly fighting for survival would become Jotaro's normality for the rest of his canon life.
