oh god i have to say illusion. For me i think he's always going to be my favorite. i don't talk much about my characters since they don't really have a following (maybe people know them more on instagram) but illusion i think was my first ever sort of genuine character i ever made in middle school so he holds a special place in my heart. I also sort of used him growing up to get through some rough times so he's a very projected version of younger me in a way lol.
Started watching Batman caped crusader and was so surprised to see the Penguin got genderbent. Now there is both positives and negatives to this:
Negatives: i cant drool over my evil capitalist malewife anymore because i am not into womenđđ and sheâs also been turned skinnier and taller than i think the penguin should be.
Positives: transfem Penguin?? Elder trans Penguin?? Hell yeahh!! Also the lesbians can have their turn now! And! Finally another female rogue because lets be so frank batmans rogues gallery is infact lacking in that department. Poison ivy and Harley have been made into anti-heroes atp so theyre not rlly rogues anymore? So its good weâre getting more women in there AND iâve been loving how unlike previous female rogues this time theres no forced sexual tension between her and batman, since thats something we see DC do too much with any villainesses. In general i like how while she does make flirty comments sheâs not malegazey or objectified, not wearing skin tight or skimpy clothes, is still older and still has a big nose and conventionally âunattractiveâ features.
Do i still love my male penguin above all? Yes! But do i have immense respect for how they treat a female version of her? Absolutely
(Iâve only watched a few episodes so no spoilers please and also if this changes and iâm wrong then let me know)
Me planning on what batman media i should watch or read next: okay so I need to finish white knight at some point so I can yap to Zephyr, but I also startd and havent finished the Batman ninja and I need to finish that, then there also Bat-Fam.... But when? Maybe after Batjokes day... then theres also some other comics that I really want, and the batman movies...... and ive seen '66 but.. but.. i need to rewatch that.....
Really liked the three of them together in this issue. They really give the vibe thay they are good friends, and they are all competent heroes and smart in their own way, and they are also dumb together.
Anyway, Bruce is being funny again. He is on a roll today.
