Jim ground the heel of his palm against an eye, as the other groggily glanced at the Vulcan. A faint smile tugged at the corner of the Captain's lips once the tired mind recognised him."Morning," he repeated slowly as he took the mug and tried to take a huge swallow as he did every time, which burned his tongue. "Anything new I need to know?"

"Little mortal boy, was it ye who lit the candle?" Sarah asked, her voice ragged with a suppressed giggle. 

This one looked like he might have, clad in black and eyes sunken like a mortal who had been under the devils touch. How old he was she couldn't tell, he was young still- but how young was just beyond her grasp of mind.
