Hey, I know things have been rough lately. You hadn't updated your blog in a few days and I just wanted to check and see if you were okay. I hope you had a good day off to take some time for yourself. We've had some lovely rainy days here in Seattle, blowing away the nasty smoke and making it feel like autumn. I hope you're getting to enjoy some autumn atmosphere too.
Oh, sweetheart, thank you so much for checking on me. I was having a rough patch, but the main reason I’m not so active on here is because Tumblr has been really really really glitchy with me lately - I can’t scroll normally, and I keep getting that dratted rainbow wheel. I’m wondering if it’s my browser, I’m going to try using Chrome.
But I did have a great day to myself on Monday, and now that I have Monroe I’m feeling a lot more confident about the future of my emotional health.

Also, at the risk of shameless self-promotion, there’s also a broader fandom for the Mythological Cycle! And by “broader” I mean “me screaming about Bres mac Elathan being a Good Boi and then putting my thoughts in a semi-cohesive form on AO3”

good news afaik it has yet to reach the ‘multiple interconnected modern AU fanfics’ level tho, or possibly any modern AU fics (i have not looked)

God, I hope the medieval Welsh lit fandom is in on this stuff. You KNOW Pwyll gets pegged by Rhiannon on the regular.
All of this is great but none of these are links. Am I going to have to tag-surf like some kind of peasant????
I have a sneaking suspicion that there is a great deal of content on Discord, which I have discovered is a format that I am constitutionally incapable of comprehending. Alas! Back in the day, you could have webforums that emailed you when a discussion you were into updated, but this is not a thing now, and I literally can’t keep track of a Secret Link that lets you look at a chat that nobody tells you updated. It’s a shame, and anyway I don’t understand how the etiquette works when they’re Secret.
This is the life of a withered Internet crone. Ware, all ye callow youths, for someday this will be ye, shaking thy bony fist at the kids on your lawn. Youuu could get a daily digessst emailll that tollld you what was poppinnn, she wailed, stretching out her gnarled fingers, and lo, you did not have to actually click throooough because nobody had figured out how to monetize your online activityyyyyyy...
Ye Olde Gayme
You might get a kick out of Chronica Feudalis. It’s an historical RPG not in the sense that it’s set during a real historical period (though it’s arguably also that), but in the sense that its core conceit is that it’s a translated manuscript from an alternative history in which tabletop roleplaying games were invented during the 12th Century rather than the 20th. The text is written entirely in character as a medieval English monk, with frequent interjections by the contemporary editor who ostensibly translated it from the original Middle English.

OMG CONGRATULATIONS I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!
thanks!! tbh i’m probably most nervous about whether tscosi fans will like the new show?? you all have been incredible over the last couple of years, and i want to do my best to not let you down <3
heelgripper replied to your post: So, Venom sure was a movie. In all seriousness,...
Any actual homoeroticism to speak of?
Maybe if you squint at the interactions between Venom and Eddie, but other than that nothing. Riz Ahmed and Tom Hardy do punch each other a few times, if you’re into hot dudes fighting.
heelgripper replied to your post “minamoonrock: It still bothers me that Lesley doesn’t seem to have...”
Wouldn't it be interesting to see if fae or genii actually DON'T have a lot of respect for Lesley because she's an oath-breaker? I'd love to see their take on her treachery.
Yeah, we haven’t seen much of that yet but I can def see a take where the general attitude is that the Folly is barely trustworthy anyway, and Lesley couldn’t even keep her promises to them. But the demi-monde runs such a spectrum of people and opinions that I wouldn’t expect that to be a universal take.
heelgripper replied to your photo: When sidewalk chalk becomes a makeup tutorial…
Aaaah what a pretty day! And you look adorable, like you’re having the time of your life! I wish we were getting some of that beautiful weather over here
It’s only just stopped being miserably hot over here, I promise you! Believe me, sunshine looks nice but it sucks having it steam-press against your skin.
But we were indeed having a grand old time! We both love drawing, so we get a kick out of taking out crayons and paints and chalk and doodling all kinds of things - his favorite is making E’s, and my speciality is hearts. He also loves to see his name printed out, and now he’s starting to request mine as well!
