it’s tickling breaths to the back of his neck that stir him.lazy sunday afternoon ; golden rays of light breaking through the blinds, landing upon bare skin and making it seem as though he’s got an inner GLOW ; a feeling of SAFETY that comes from the feel of strong arms wrapped around his middle.
it’s such a calming state to be in that he’s not even MAD genji’s still in his bed.
NO, he finds he doesn’t mind it ; would even go so far as to say he LIKES it.
a change from the NORM, but he’s woken with a good mood.
with careful shifting Dox twists, turning his body to face Genji, taking in the view of his roommate asleep beside him. he fits a leg between both of Genji’s, drapes an arm across his side ;
fingers draw shapeless things across the bare skin beneath them, gaze traveling across the rest of the body before him. a touch of humor lightens within his chest as he entertains the thought that if genji won’t use his OWN room, maybe they should just get a single-bedroom apartment once the lease is up - no point in paying for two rooms if they’re just going to stumble back to Dox’s every night.
—the thought is cast aside with the reminder that this isn’t going to remain a COMMON THEME. for as much fun as they have together, their… RELATIONSHIP isn’t one that’s going to last into the far future—it’s EXACTLY THAT, just FUN, and although Genji gets some strange GLEE out of making people think they’re some form of ‘TOGETHER’ more than they truly are, there’s nothing beyond the PHYSICAL and the PLATONIC.
…and yet, there goes dox, lessening the distance to place a soft kiss to Genji’s brow ; he feels too SATISFIED in the moment to keep such affection to himself.above all Genji’s his best friend, and while their contact may be limited to PLAY FIGHTS and FREQUENT SEX, there are moments like THIS where the warmth that fills Dox is TOO MUCH that it needs to be shared.
