hi, i hope you are having a nice day! i just wanted to say that i absolutely love your art!! how did you get into creating mixed media art, and what advice would you give to an absolute beginner??
When I was 18 I was in a really bad place. Living with my mom and not getting along at all. Too scared to go to school or go out with friends a lot. So I was at home a lot. Therapy wasn't doing much and a lot of facilities didn't know how to help me. I felt horrible. People told me to write about my feelings but I never managed to put my feelings onto paper. I found @ohbutwebestmakepeacewithit on Tumblr and they had a few mixed media pieces that I really loved. (This was like back in 2018) When I got journals for Christmas I decided to give it a try... That's when hel7l7 was born. (only it had a different name then I believe)
Advice to an absolute beginner is to let go of the idea that it has to look like someone else's art. You are your own being. Everything you make is unique and therefore special. I used to get really stuck trying to make something that looked like something I saw someone else do. In the end I can only make what's true to me. Finding your own style/language in art takes time. Allow yourself the time and space to experiment and try things out. You will grow into your style and even then it will always evolve and change.
