Received my pocket altar to Hel in the mail today!! I love it 🥰 thanks to @notthesomefather
Morning with the Ladies
Life stuff has been stressful in different directions, but yesterday went well and some of the life stuff is looking to get sorted out favorably, so it was a good time to clear off the altar in the kitchen window above the sink, give it a good wipe down, and reorganize it. And set out fresh offerings, of course.
Frigga is on the left, Hela on the right. The bottle next to Hela is for the ancestors, the cat bottle in the middle is for the both of them as well as Freya. Frigga has a little cinnamon broom.
I poured Frigga some tea last night, and she got a fresh cup this morning when I made some coffee for myself. After the life stuff yesterday, I baked some bread, and the first slice went to the altar with a bit of butter. That will likely sit through the week because Hela likes to let her offerings sit and change and even decay if it's appropriate for the area (we won't let it get that far for the sake of general kitchen cleanliness), while Frigga likes her tea to be fresh, thank you very much. Good manners, and tea is meant to be enjoyed fresh.
So here's to the Ladies and to getting through life one day at a time.

How is everyone doing today?
My magical work has been going... well, about normal. I’ve made friends with a new goddess and I can tell she will be part of my work for a very long time to come. I’ve been practicing mediation before bed which increases the vividness and interest of my dreams. This new moon, I plan to begin learning about the LBRP (with copious modifications and likely a long time of trial and error, because I am not Jewish and should not be performing Jewish magic or calling upon their gods and angels). I’m quite excited because I have one friend who will be learning by my side and another who is interested in the theoretical work behind redesigning a ritual. I love learning about the theory and why things are done, so it’s a very fascinating project for me.
I believe I need to make myself a set of runes. I currently don’t have the means to make the moonstone set I was shown in a dream, but I figure I might as well learn on a wooden or normal stone set. My father owns a dremel so it will be no trouble to carve them myself. Divination has never been my forte, as I generally have no need of fortunes or communicative assistance, but Odin is apparently the sort of god you need a divinitory tool for so I will learn it for him.
I’m also looking into acquiring some bone beads to make jewelry out of. Bone for this earthly body, garnet for the astral, a black stone (i haven’t decided which yet) for my family, amber for my higher self and perhaps grey cat’s eye for the Mists and the fair folk. I have a lot of crafting I want to do lol. I also am almost done assembling my warp-weighted loom, and once I’ve gotten the hang of that (pun) I want to weave myself an altar cloth in our system colors. I currently just have a black synthetic cloth because it was the only thing I had that was big enough but it’s barely suitable.
Day 9: Hel
Hel ver 2
Figured out a background. I happen to be drawn to spirals, hagalaz(elder futhark) and ear (anglo Saxon). I just felt magenta was right.

Can't figure out a background.
