"Do you think Phoenix would go to therapy"
I think at a certain point it's non-negotiable. He's GOING to the psychiatric hospital whether he likes it or not.

Here's a small thing I have sitting in my ellipsus folders. I don't have any big plans for this passage just yet. Maybe I'll hold onto it forever. Maybe I'll add it to a bigger series. Maybe I'll write more of it and post it as its own short fic.

Phoenix couldn't attest to feeling fireworks crackling off throughout their body in that moment. Maybe because Miles doesn't make them feel like a fuse burning out before exploding into stars. No, with his lips pressing firm to theirs, Miles more like a nice hot drink on a freezing cold day. Something tasty with a little bit of bite, like coffee with a ton of cream. It's a kiss that warmed their belly and spread outward. It eased the cold air nipping at their aching joints and comforted their very soul. As they both pulled back Phoenix sighed, imagining the puff of steam leaving their lips as they lower their mug.
Miles kept them warm. One arm around their waist and resting on their lower back, one hand cupping their cheek. He made it hard to feel the chill around themself, but Phoenix knew their cheeks were still flushed. They could feel their own lips curl into a smile, and knew they were too close to the cause to hide it. Phoenix went in for another sip, Miles eagerly obliged them. In his embrace, it didn't matter where they were or how hot or cold it actually was. Because, truthfully, after spending so many years in an unkind, cruel, and cold world, Miles proved to be a tender, cozy relief.
They didn't let Miles pull away completely. He didn't dare escape from the gentle grip on his forearms. Reality regained its form, and Phoenix remembered where they stood. It's midday in Edgeworth's office. It's comfortable, not too cold and not too hot. And outside, it's way too hot, even for summer. Yet, Miles is still so comfortable that Phoenix didn't want to let go.
Now that they thought about it, Phoenix had a chance to do this years ago. When it was much, much colder.
Christmas Day at their home, 2018. Damn, that felt like it was just yesterday. It felt like twenty years ago. Somehow Maya managed to convince Miles to join them. There was a mistletoe Phoenix swore they never bought. While Pearls insisted on shoving Maya under the mistletoe with them, Maya urged Miles to do it. No one asked Phoenix whether or not they wanted to kiss anyone. They scowled at both the man and the woman and slipped away from the plant. Maya teased, Pearls whined, Miles rolled his eyes. Phoenix spent the next few hours trying to force down their discomfort.
They never regretted that decision. If they chose to kiss either of them that day, Phoenix was sure they'd hate it. And why hate something that should be so good? So special? Why spoil their first kiss on a moment when they weren't feeling it?
Phoenix closed their eyes as Miles leaned in again. But this time, he pecked the space between their eyes, down the bridge of their nose. They pecked his chin. It's all so gentle for people like them. Phoenix begged whatever divine force watching over them to just let them enjoy this. They needed this.

WIP Day! (Shedding Feathers - Rise)
Guess who's back to my longfic which I totally didn't abandon in favor of writing one-shots and shorter fics. Chapter 6 is fully written out, and likely only needs one more proofread before posting. HOWEVER, I've been thinking. I want to finish Rise before I post any more chapters.

With the blinds drawn, he couldn’t see anyone inside. But the door was unlocked. Muffled chatter could be heard on the other side. As soon as he walked in and the doorbell jangled above him, the chatter ceased. Two men stood inside. The first one he saw was dressed in an ugly goldenrod sweater and blue jeans. His annoyingly big brown eyes lit up at the sight of him. He can never escape the Butz... The second man, the one he was looking for and the owner of this building, stood with a bucket of cleaning products in hand. His usual blazer sat on the coat rack farther inside. Instead of a dress shirt he wore a powder blue turtleneck and a short red scarf.
Oh, wow.
"Edgeworth," The attorney greeted with a nod, "Can't say I expected you, either." Before anyone could get another word in, Larry flung himself onto Edgeworth. The prosecutor grunted, nearly snarled, as he pried their mutual childhood friend off of himself. Wright wasn't even fazed. He simply waited for the two to finish. "Good thing I just finished cleaning. Come in, don't just stand there! It's freezing outside!"
The prosecutor cleared his throat and closed the door behind him. Both men prompted him to keep his shoes by the door, not wanting him to track dirt on the just-mopped floor. He'd have harrumphed about this being an office, not a house, but thought better of it. "I must apologize, Wright, I was not aware it was cleaning day for you."
"It is Ōmisoka," he lawyer shrugged, "I would've locked the office, but then Larry wanted to come over. And I assumed most people around here would be busy with the same thing."
"Most folks're busy either way," Larry added. Wright walked through another door, presumably to put away the products in his hand.
“O-oh… I suppose that’s true.” This last week had been like traveling through the nine layers of hell. Time has never felt more like an illusion than now. And now it’s the end of 2016. He’s in Japanifornia, not Germany, and a large part of the population observe Ōmisoka. Anyone who didn’t would still be preparing for the new year anyway. “It’s been so long since I participated myself. I’d say I forgot it altogether, but that’s not quite true. Would you like me to come back later?”
Both of his childhood friends told him no. Wright reappeared, joking "If I didn't kick him out—" pointing to Larry, "— why would I do it to you?" Larry slapped his arm in retaliation. The attorney only smirked back.
"If I'm not imposing, then," Edgeworth wavered, "I wanted to inquire about my cases."
Been watching so many building and cleaning videos recently and thought about a short series where Beanix got to move into Miles's barren house and he works to turn it into a home.
Lots of woodworking and crafting and whatnot. DiY type beat
"It's not that I think you don't deserve it. I just wish I was as loved as you are. Or at least, that you loved me enough to say it to my face. And I wish that I had the compassion that you are given. Or at least, that you gave some to me. And I wish that everyone thought I was as beautiful as you. Or at least, that you would tell me that I am. Just once. Just once...
I hope I can keep those wishes inside, I hope I never trouble you with them. But when you're never given such luxuries, you can't help but wish."
Thought about writing something short where everybody goes to pride except Phoenix, who feels like he can't or shouldn't because he's still in the closet about his gender. They stay at the agency alone, waving their enby flag. Then puts it away again when everyone comes back in high spirits
Trying to figure out how I'm gonna write a fic with this concept
Phoenix has always experienced colorism. He realizes it's gotten worse when he rekindled his friendship with Miles. And it's even worse when they're dating. He knows it's because people tend to compare the couple's looks and skin tones. But he decides it's for the best not to tell Miles what he's going through.
