Devoid, Helios and Lunic Sol; the 20s
20: Does your OC hurt others often unintentionally? If yes, how?
D- Yes, his temper has gotten away with him, and sometimes he lashes out (physically and verbally) without meaning to.H- Helios has made it his goal to avoid anyone getting hurt, he works in personal security, but his grief has hurt his relationship with his wife and daughter somewhat.L- On the occasions he does, Lunic just calls it a happy accident.
21: Does your OC hurt others often intentionally? If yes, how?
D- When Devoid gets out of control, loses himself, yes he will maim, kill, eat indiscriminately. It tears him up when he gets control back, but there’s not a lot he can do about it.H- Only in the line of defending others.L- Frequently, and with great enjoyment. He’s a sadistic little maniac, who thrives on others fear and pain. Especially those with magic in their veins, that’s a buffet for him. He’s got next to no empathy or compassion in his demonic bones. People he hurts intentionally most often: his father, his mother, and his half-brother. Especially his half-brother.
22: How does your OC usually show affection? Are they openly romantic or more restricted with their affectionate emotions?
D- Back when Devoid was still Apollo Sol, he was super romantic. He showed the love of his life, Vana Van’Os, how much he cared about her often. He was ready to pledge his life to her. He wore his emotions on his sleeve and had a bleeding heart for those in pain or in need. Now that he’s Devoid, well. There’s a reason his name is now Devoid. He feels things, but they tend to be instinctual and intense and negative. Most of the affection he had for life has been drained from him. He wistfully wishes he were as capable of love as he was when he was Apollo, and he still cares for his brother (and the woman he loved more than life) but he can’t find the way to express it anymore.H- Helios was the polar opposite of his twin, he let Apollo be the gushy one, he was more reserved with how he felt...until Apollo disappeared for a decade and he realized how short life was. He told the woman he’d been seeing how much he cared, vowed to love her as long as he was alive, and started a family with her. He tries to show his daughter Selene how much she’s his world, but he feels the keen loss of his twin brother so much sometimes affection gets drowned out in the sorrow.L- Lunic isn’t quite sure he’s capable of affection. He’s yet to find anything that inspires any sort of warm fuzzy feeling, beyond satisfaction at a job well done. The job being mayhem and chaos. He prefers to mock his father for how much he is still able to feel affection than feel it himself.
23: Does your OC tend to hide something about their personality/essence when meeting new people? If yes, what?
D- Oh hell yes. Devoid goes out of his way to hide what he’s become, which can be very difficult because you can see effects of it on every part of his body. He doesn’t want to be the monster he is, and because of how obvious he feels that he is one, he tends to avoid new people.H- Helios attempts to hide just how broken he feels he is when meeting new people. Usually they’re clients, and they don’t need to know that the personal security agent they just hired struggles with feelings of guilt and helplessness.L- Lunic doesn’t much like hiding. He’s very out in the open when he wants to be, but seeing as there’s a bunch of people out to kill him, he does use glamours to hide who/what he is when out and about. He can be quite charming when he isn’t trying to hurt you.
24: How would your OC react if they got humiliated by someone in a group of people?
D- Apollo would’ve laughed it off, but Devoid just withdraws.H- Helios didn’t have much that embarrassed him, but on times when he was he’d be all gruff and macho about it.L- Like a spoiled child in a temper tantrum. It’d likely end in lots of blood and only Lunic walking away.
25: How would your OC process the grief caused by the death of a loved one?
D- Were something to happen to the few he can scrap up the affection to love, he would likely go wild in grief and rage. Possibly burn a few cities to the ground.H- ...With crippling self-doubt, an attempt to fill the hole with a family, and possibly a mild alcohol addiction.L- He’s not yet come to that crossroads, evidence so far suggests he’d be just fine, mosey on with his life, possibly throw a party. That’s what he tells himself anyway.
26: What is the most intense thing your OC has been battling with?
D- Struggling with what was done to him, what he became because of it, how it destroyed his life irreparably. Every minute he’s fighting to not be the monster, the demon, the beast he’s been turned into. But by far, it’s worse fighting the need to reveal himself to Vana, who now has a husband and a life that’s moved beyond her grief at losing him.H- He fights with his coping mechanism that really isn’t very healthy. He’s had a bit more luck since he discovered Apollo wasn’t dead, not entirely, but that only brought a new wave of guilt that in ten years he never found his brother while he was experiencing hell.L- Lunic’s had no internal conflict, and his external conflict is mostly instigated by him. He does have a drive to surpass his father, which he’s yet to accomplish.
27: Does your OC practice any kind of escapism? If yes, what kind?
D- Devoid likes looking at the stars, or trying to remember his old life. It’s bittersweet.H- Helios unfortunately escapes into a bottle or his work. Sometimes he manages to escape by playing with his little girl, but those are rare times.L- Lunic doesn’t have need of escapism, so he doesn’t practice it.
28: How would your OC react if a bully stole their lunch money in high school?
D- Apollo was a popular guy in high school, though not exceedingly wealthy. Were he assaulted, as much as he wouldn’t want to fight, he’d take the bully down and then apologize for the bruises after while pinning him to the ground. Then he’d recommend the bully get a job to earn some spending money if he’s in such need as to attempt to take his.H- After a moment where Helios would give the bully the chance to rethink his actions...He’d take a swing, cause a fight, and be sent to detention. He’d get his money back though.L- Murder.
29: How does your OC behave on the face of a conflict?
D- Avoidance if at all possible, if not, it usually ends quickly. In Devoid’s favor.H- Defuse or end it with as little casualties as possible.L- Accelerate it, he’s always up for a nice bout of conflict.
