I have to say, the reveal of Amethyst's extended family is both kinda funny and sad because it shows that among those of her kindergarten, Jasper really is the odd one out. There are at least two other Jaspers stationed at the Human Zoo, and all of them wholeheartedly like Amethyst along with the other gems from Earth. Jasper is the outlier among a group of Quartz gems who embraced the fact that they came from Earth, a backwater world deemed as a failed colonial experiment, and formed almost a family with themselves around that, a bond only strengthened by how much superiors like Holly demean them for their improper conduct and lower status. She could have had this community of outcasts to become a part of, but instead felt that she had to pursue the might-makes-right philosophy that defines Homeworld's empire, leaving behind this chance to not be alone in serving the Diamonds as the "strongest Jasper from Earth". It's a rather miserable existence for her, having to prove herself like that because she knew how gems would treat her otherwise.

And for Amethyst's side, it really shows how successfully different she is from Jasper by showing that basically every other remaining gem produced at the Kindergartens are like her. I really wish we could've seen Amethyst getting to know her new family (I WANT MORE CARNELIAN), people who embrace her despite her supposed imperfections and perhaps even admire her for now being part of the Crystal Gems. Pearl and Amethyst are both no longer alone now at this point in the narrative, with Pearl now understanding more about life and Amethyst fully accepting her identity.
