Apple to remove outdated apps. Will you be affected?

The app store, and even the playstore, has become a lot like a sunken pirate ship. There are pockets of treasure here and there, hidden among tons and tons of debris and worthless items. However, apple has now decided to clean up this mess. Starting on September 7, Apple has began removing old, outdated apps from the App store. However, all that gliters is not gold and all gold does not always glitter. In this massive clean up, your app can be taken down as well. Do not for once think that you can’t be removed, no matter how ‘new’ your app is! You may think your app is a ‘treasure’, your customers may think your app is a ‘treasure’, but you still need to convince Apple. So how do you get that ‘gliter’ for your gold? How do you vet your app to ensure it is not taken down? The first step ofcourse is to understand what exactly is Apple looking for. What are the criteria that will get you segregated as ‘outdated’.  Apple says ‘apps will be evaluated to make sure they function as expected, follow current review guidelines, and are not outdated’. This is a very vague directive to say the least. To fully understand how to make your apps ready for future changes, you need to thoroughly read the latest App Store Review Guidelines. Which is a 8000 words document! A 8000 words document just to make sure your app is not taken off the app store!
