a hole rips open in Time Square. the earth trembles, the ground quakes, ash rains down from the sky. demons pour forth, bringing with them beasts spoken of only in revelations, monsters from the lowest depths of hell. they fill the streets while buildings fall, the dead fall and rise again with sharper teeth. the prophets close their eyes and weep, the hunters watch as their weapons break. the living find themselves kneeling at the feet of the dead.
