You know, it always amazes me how insanely generic couples with little kids are. Like I do a lot of kids birthday parties and often I stumble across a homogenized mess of straight couples with their little kids and it’s like. It took so long to find a partner and get married and have a child but now I could swap any parent or any child to another and you could not tell whose kid is whose or whose husband is whose. You all look exactly the same. Most of the women are pregnant. The guys have beers. They are huddled in a circle talking about man things. The women who aren’t pregnant are drinking alcoholic seltzer. Pretend happiness chokes the air. Any real emotion is lost in the monotonous haze of fake hellos and children screaming.
