𝕵OINING THE JUSTICE LEAGUE ABSOLUTELY HAD some incredible perks, even outside of the traditional hero work. Dexter was making friends, exposed to more knowledge than he could have ever expected otherwise, a chance to travel … but it also came with a new reputation. It had very quickly become known that he was a little bit fussy over people when they got hurt, never quite able to shake his inner doctor or desire to help people, even after becoming unable to finish his residency. Instead he would do his best to use his alchemy to heal others when given the chance. He was probably a better option than any doctor anyways because he knew them, knew their identities, knew how their bodies worked inside and out down to a molecular and anatomical level. Just make sure not to ask any questions on how he got all of this information on the different members of the league.
Even now, as Doyoung stands before Batman treating his wounds, blonde hair pulled up into a messy top knot to keep it out of his face, though there always seem to be a few strands that manage to escape. His tongue pokes out just barely as he cleans off a particularly harsh gash with antiseptic, wincing a little bit internally because he knows that stings. “ You really need to be more careful, man … some of these are really nasty. ” Of course Dexter knows he’s the last person who should be lecturing anyone about behavior given his own recklessness, but it’s true they are bad. He had half a mind to just use stitches instead of closing them with alchemy, but that would be mean for the sake of being mean and he’s not about that. Dropping the now blood soaked cotton ball into the biohazard waste bin he runs both his hands up either side of the wound. “ This is gonna hurt, just try not to punch me please. ”
That’s the only warning he really gives as he presses in on either side of the sliced open skin, forcing each side to press closed. It’s a little easier, at least for Dex, from that moment on as he feels his alchemy work ⸻ that telltale static that seems to hum just underneath the surface. He can feel it when the wound begins to close, the body's own natural healing process being sped up with a tiny little boost. Once he feels that there’s nothing left, not even a scar, he pulls his hands away and wipes them clean on a nearby towel, cleaning off all the blood as he shifts his weight onto one hip. There is still one more wound that Dexter needs to get a good look at, he could smell the blood easily, but he knows that getting a clear check of it is going to be a little bit of an … issue. Lips pull into a tight line as he briefly thinks about how to best go about this. “ I need you to let me take your mask off, Batman. ” He says carefully as he rings the towel a bit between his fingers.
“ The blood is going to cake to the surface, and it’s already cracked anyways. I heard it happen. So before the blood dries too much I need to check the head wound. ” It's an incredibly hard ask, and Dexter know this, but he can't leave a head wound untreated. He just hopes that the vigilante knows that he can be trusted, that he wouldn't share whatever secret is hiding underneath.
