WGBITN mid-Feburary update!
Happy fantastic Friday for starters!
I know it hasn't been too long since last update, but next week is strike week in support of Palestine, and I will be participating in that, so WGBITN news now!

Okay so I will admit, I have been thoroughly defeated by the e-book.
I haven't ever done epub file formatting before, and it is vastly different from doing print file formatting, which I do have experience with! So it's been a lot of back and forth trying to get things to work and look nice and it is. Very hard
It has been so incredibly frustrating to work on this, because I'll think I'm done or get my hopes up that something's going to work, and then it'll fail at the very end. I've had to change a lot about how I style my formatting/text to make it compatible with the e-book, and that's a huge part of what really matters to me in how this story is told.
The way the text and formatting look is a big deal, but the nature of e-books means that a lot of that isn't possible, and it's been a huge disappointment to have to give some of that up. I have to do it this way though if I want the e-book to be available on amazon and b&n and other websites, and I think having it there will make it easier for more people to find it, so I'm playing along with their formatting rules for now, boring though they may be.
Either way! It's been a demoralizing week, and I've taken a bit of a break from formatting before diving back in to try and figure out the best path going forwards!
I'm still thinking we'll have an official e-book release before the end of the month, and then hopefully doing print file setup won't be as disastrous. But one can only hope!
On the bright side, I have officially started the second book in the series, 'The Things Under Your Bed', and I'm very excited to pick things back up with Etienne! So far 3k in and he is already not having a good time :D

I have absolutely no ETA for the second book, but it is very nice to be writing again after a few weeks of actual formatting hell.
I think that about wraps it up! I am in the process of taking product photos, so expect that and some more book news after the strike week is up (18-25)!
Thank you guys so much for all the support and well wishes! Getting things ready for an official release is harder than I thought it was going to be, but I think it'll be worth it in the end! Things are always more difficult the first go around, but I've learned a lot and I'm excited to put all this knowledge to use going forwards :D
