WGBITN Hardcover Update

We're finally getting them

Behold my stack of failures, but after much trial and error, I finally have a product I'm happy with! The books are in production rn and I don't wanna say they'll be here in time for Halloween, but they might be!

In other news, the sequel is almost done! On chapter 19 out of 21 I think? So fingers crossed for finishing by the end of the year and a release date of next January! I shall let you know though once we begin the final edits :3

Hey admittedly it has been a while since I checked but it was 3 when I last checked and your pinned post says 3, so is EH still being updated? I ask because its probably one of my favourite works of prose fiction, like, ever. In total. If this is pushy im sorry you dont have to answer, youre an amazing writer and have a great day!

Both EH and LITWS have short, anthology series that update infrequently whenever I get the urge to write again for those universes. Lost Logs updated this March but I don't currently have anything else in the works for it. The Moss is Greener has one more final update I'm working on and then LITWS will be officially completed, but I've been prioritizing my book in terms of what I'm working on!

Will WGBITN ever be available in stores(ex. Barnes and noble and any other book store that exists) in the future?? I'm curious cuz that's where I mainly buy books

Maybe one day! But sadly not any time soon. My current printer doesn't have a partnership outside of Amazon and then The Great British Bookshop, and it's through my printer that I'd be able to get on the book buying list for larger stores.

Even if I was though, there's a lot of sway and reputation you need to get someone like B&N to buy your books, and I am a publisher of one, so I don't have much clout. I'm working on ways to get my name out there, but every book I sell helps strengthen my credibility as an author!

So in the meantime, you can buy physical copies directly from me through Etsy!

Or if shipping is an issue, the e-book is also available on Etsy or Amazon!

A VERY BELATED BOOK UPDATE

Hah whoops I have not done an update in…a while, my bad!

Well, today for you I have an update on where the 2nd book is, a hardcover/pricing update, and a mildly related photo collage

Starting with the 2nd book, ‘The Things Under Your Bed’

I think I’m passed the 2/3’s mark now? I just started chapter 16 and have about 5-6 slated after that? So the finish line is in sight! It’s kinda funny that this book is either going to have as many chapters as the first one, or perhaps less, but will be overall longer in terms of word count! It’s just that most of these chapters ended up beefy and we’ve elected to keep them that way! I’m actually close to passing WGBITN in terms of word count, sitting at 167k right now :D

Hardcover update and pricing increase

What is hopefully the last color test print is on the way! I should have it by the middle of July and then I can place my big order after that, so very exciting news!

Unfortunately, prices on supplies have gone up globally so I will need to adjust the list price of the hardcovers. As of right now, the hardcovers will be going from $25.99 to $26.99, but the paperbacks are staying at $15.99 unless anything drastic changes!

Mildly Unrelated Life Antecedent

I was actually in New Orleans this spring and it was so much fun to be back in the city after having written WGBITN! We had a good time, ate some great food, I took notes about all the little things I noticed to try and make TTUYB more authentic, and in typical Hellen fashion, I took almost 0 pictures so please enjoy this tiny Aesthetic collage of the trip!

Hope everyone in the northern hemisphere is having a good summer and is beating the heat! Everyone south of the equator, hope your winter is going well and you’re staying relatively warm! For anyone at the equator, hope it’s not too humid.

New Year Update

Hey guys! It’s been a while since I’ve done an official update on what’s been happening with the project, so I wanted to just touch base real quick!

Just a few quick things, it’s kinda a quiet period in the Hellenite workshop but to kick things off-

♡ Vallentine’s Day sale! ♡ I guess it’s technically multi day but oh well- share the love!! My entire Etsy store will be 20% OFF starting Monday the 10th and going through Friday the 14th! I also just got another shipment of paperbacks so everything is restocked!

Hardcovers For the love of God, I really hope I’ve gotten the print issue resolved with them. The hardcovers have to come from a UK printer so it’s extra time for transit and also they use a differing printing method, which has made it difficult trying to color match the hardcovers to the paperbacks. At this point, I think I probably have to accept there will be some color differences between the two types of book, but I want them at least in the same ballpark. As of rn they’re not even remotely close XD

Anyway! I have my next one on the way but it hasn’t left London yet. It should be here by the end of the month though!

Book 2 Yes there is a second book (and many more to follow)! This next one is called ‘The Things Under Your Bed’ and I’m about halfway through with writing it! I anticipate it’ll be done, including editing, by the end of the year, but I’m not sure when physical copies and e-book versions will be available. I’ll probably have a better idea once I get closer to actually finishing the book, but I can report it’s going well so far!

Other early stage WGBITN projects I’ve got a few other things I’ve started to work on behind the scenes, but none of it has gone very far or it is in super early stages. I’m still not sure if these ideas will pan out, but I am at least looking into them for now!

So far I’ve started very tentatively working on a visual novel style game that would take place roughly after the first book, but exist outside of canon, just so I don’t spoil any of the actual plot lol. The rough idea is you’d play as Etienne and have two major story branches to explore with either Nica or bestie Sabine in tow.

The other idea is I’ve started researching how to go about making an audio book? Some of my friends are more auditory enjoyers and I was wondering if this would be something anyone else would be interested in? Lmk! I have virtually no information on this one, but if it moves forward, I’ll let y’all know once I know :D

Aaaand that is it! Like I said, a little quiet rn but I’ve got enough to keep me busy :D

Thank y’all so much for all the support! I didn’t think I’d more or less sell out my first shipment of books before the one year mark, but I only had 3 left out of 30 total books and that’s so crazy exciting!
