K.P: plotted starter &. hellishandvampish
When Katherine first left, leaving everyone including her precious Salvatores under the illusion that she had perished in the fires, she imagined she’d be able to come back soon enough, a month or two at most. but the circumstances changed and luckily Katherine was nothing if not flexible so checking up on Stefan and Damon over the years was her plan B and the vampire was determined on making it work.
Stefan on the one hand seemed to be enjoying his newly gained powers, slowly adapting to his new abilities and making the best of all life offers, Damon however seemed to chase after troubles that is when troubles weren’t chasing after him. At some point the blue-eyed Salvatore disappeared and when Katherine found him again he was different, altered in a way that raised Katherine’s suspensions and intrigued her at once. It took a couple extra weeks to figure out that the person she was watching wasn’t who she was meant to be watching.
A doppelganger, she believed him to be, despite the idea being so ironic since she never knew or thought Damon had a shadow-self or apparently was himself a shadow-self.
It became too much and curiosity got the best of her when Katherine decided to abandon the shadows one dark night. She only had a few more days to spend in this city anyway so why not satisfy her curiosity before she left?
She followed the stranger with the familiar face into a dead-end street on the outskirts of some woods, Katherine figured catching him mid-meal and fangsdeep in a victim was the least violent option as she still didn’t know if she could take him or not. Her brown eyes observed the creature before her, a monster as herself with a pair of blue eyes too innocent for his dark soul. ‘Handsome stranger not offering a bite of his meal to a lady is a sign of very poor manners.’ She pouted, for the first time consciously making her presence known to another creature of the night. ‘let’s not pretend you don’t know I’ve been tailing you around.’ Her head tilted to the side and arms crossed before her chest as she admitted to having been caught. ‘we haven’t officially met. I’m Katherine.’ she intoduced herself, leaning back against a tree.
