when claire puts her mind to something, it will always take a lot of persistent persuading to get her to drop it, so there is no doubt that this is who brianna inherited her stubbornness from. what her mama always has been & likely always will be is a unique woman, and bree wouldn’t change her for the world ... she only wishes she were a little more careful.
she stands with her back to the island in her new surgery, turned away from the sight of the corpse laid out on the table. a wave of nausea had already hit brianna, who prefers working with inanimate objects rather than the living or dead and so she was in need of a moment to settle the feelings of discomfort in her stomach. ignoring the source of said nausea seemed to do the trick, at least for the time being. eyes flick up to meet those of her mother’s, a worried look gracing her features. ❝ mama, that is not what i’m saying. ❞
❝ what i mean is : be careful. people here don’t respect the kind of work you’re doing. i do, roger does, and i’m sure da does, too, but others won’t understand. while i see a surgeon doing her job, they see a woman performing miracles with her bare hands. ❞
