The young girl was hiding behind a tree, her flames obviously sticking out but she didn't want to move and be seen more obviously. She simply decided to wait it out and see if the girl would leave.
At first, the other girl didn’t notice anything. Her head was too preoccupied with brushing the dirt away from the mechanical parts she had robbed from a grave found. Wallace and Wilson would be so happy once she fixed up that icebox. She smiled proudly, a feeling of satisfaction at the thought of doing something useful for her camp-mates. But as she was stuffing the gears in her pack, she noticed the glow from behind a nearby tree. Fireflies? No, it was far too early in the day for fireflies…
Waverly hesitantly approached the tree, eyes scanning for a campfire or a lantern, but what she found was just another person. Well, part of a person at least. The head was gone, or more specifically replaced with a flame at the end of a wick.
It was like Waverly to run away from most things—people, animals, problems—but this time she just stared wide-eyed at the figure for the longest time.
"I-I’m hallucinating." she finally said.
