So. I got round to watching it. Me and my sibling watched it together (clinging to eachother by the end, I will say).
I think it was incredible. Perfect? Im sure theres many ways they couldve chosen to end that story. And i think they did a pretty damn good job of giving us one that felt worth it, that made sense, that didnt leave us feeling too disatisfied and that made it feel worth it.
My only point wouldve been that Jesus felt very hyped and not much came from him (do NOT get me wrong what we did get of jesus was adorable, I just wouldve liked to see more of him and a bit more fleshed out personally), but I think if Jesus had shown up and magically fixed everything, we wouldve been worse off.
Yes I almost cried. Honestly during the bookshop conversation i experienced for the first time becoming so emotionally overwhelmed by a tv show that I physically attempted to climb the furniture beside me.
I think it was good. Will I ever watch it again? I want to rewatch it right now honestly but I dont think I have the strength for that.
I think its always a novel feeling to see something end in real time, when you knew something from start to finish. And despite the problems and the disappointment that was neil gaiman, it is still wonderful this thing that a lot of people poured their hearts into and that we as a fandom got to be a part of the journey in creating, and we will get to love for probably years to come.
So thats me done being sappy, basically I liked the finale and it made me feel a lot of feelings. I have a few nitpicks, but who doesnt. Like "staunch the wound". Im pretty sure you staunch the bleeding not the wound itself right? Anyway. Loved the finale. Can finally remove good omens from my blocked tags.
How are we doing fellow plagueround enjoyers I FEEL SO MANY EMOTIONS
POE! HIS BIRD! OUR BIRD!
Im not gonna go too in depth in case someone scrolls the tags and hasnt watched it yet but holy shit.
Monty? Monty's character development? Delightful. Delectable. Boy has come so far, so proud of him. He also has superwolf feet and a concussion and I love that for him.
I have been thinking about something since episode 1 that i might mention later because i want outside opinions on whether its even relevant, but for now i wanna know what theories people have about the monster, and its possible connection to Roland?
Personally, I feel like The Lord is definitely Not The Lord. I think its some entity with malicious intent, and maybe even be a separate curse to Roland's light-related power. That, or i feel like it could have been the fact that Roland's curse has an element of consciousness that caused the magic-shiny-coal to become concious, therefore creating the monster? If that makes any sense at all?
Im not sure. But i fucking loved the finale. Watch it as soon as you can. Its so good. Physical pain from laughter. Cannot wait for whatever they do next. Live Laugh Roll from the hip.
Fellow Plagueround boys and others??? How are we all doinggg???
