Something that I have noticed just from casual observation is that homophobic/“love but not support” groups/individuals will exclusively use the LGBT(IA and a + if they’re feeling a little extra progressive) while actual queer spaces will use the word “queer” along with the queer alphabet and other actual queer terms.

While I’m not against the queer alphabet, I feel like businesses and the aforementioned “love but not support” types use it to put letters onto a whole beautiful spectrum of people. It’s almost as if they don’t want to think too hard about it. Some people will do anything to dehumanize those they see as inferior.

Anyway, keep using real queer words and remember that labels are an unnecessary burden of this existence. Do what you want because damnit it’s pride month.
