I’m on transplant this month.
The fellow called me to drain a hematoma bedside on a kidney transplant patient. I opened the incision and was like UMMMMM Sumanth THAT IS THE KIDNEY. The bulge wasn’t a hematoma. The dude dehisced, and it was his kidney. Like I just opened an insicion expecting a ton of blood to come out and instead a kidney popped out. And that’s the story of how I ended up operating on a day we initially had no cases scheduled.
