So we need some pointers. One of us really wants to go by leaf/leafs/leafself pronouns, and that's totally valid, but I don't know how to help others correct themselves (as often people just resort to using they/them pronouns). Am looking for a nounself pronoun pin and/or a template for cards that might help people understand/wrap their head around nounself/neopronouns.
I found these pronoun pins you can fill in yourself! And there are also options that some folk offer to personalize the pins for you. I’m surprised I didn’t find more. I feel like there used to be more resources for customizable pronoun stuff. D: There are some sticker options, like these, but obviously that’s less reusable so less ideal.
A template was harder to find, though that’s a really great idea. UW came up with a little card with examples of how to use all the forms of your pronoun set. You could print a couple of that one (obviously you don’t need the pronoun list - you would just fill it in with leaf/leafs/leafself as appropriate) or use it to create your own with more customized example sentences. You could also do a sort of leaflet similar to @neopronounfaq‘s pages. Those are simple, easy to follow, and well-laid out.
Ehm Milterson has done what looks like a pretty good academically focused write-up on what nounself pronouns are and why folk use them, if you want to share that with some of the people in your life who would be willing to flip through it or be interested in it. Otherwise, it might help give you some language for how to describe nounself pronouns for yourself?
This did point out what could be considered a lack of resources on neopronouns, specifically nounself pronouns, that might help folk. I’ll have to poke around and see if I can find anything else helpful to reblog here or perhaps think about constructing some cards/pamphlets type of thing.
I hope what I provided here helps!
