Hellsing Horror References
Hellsing characters and horror expies-
Alucard- Dracula (Obviously)
The Captain- Wolfman (Again, also obvious even though The Captain is a member of the critically endangered werewolf race instead of THE Wolfman).
Alexander Anderson- Frankenstein’s Monster (Okay, maybe not THE Frankenstein’s Monster. However, both are considered extremely powerful, have a gentle giant approach around children, and Anderson more closely resembles the classical portrayal of the Monster. It would also complete the trinity of Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Wolfman).
Walter- Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Old! Walter being Jekyll and Vampire! Walter being Mr. Hyde).
Mina Harker/SHE- The Mummy (Her vampiric curse bringing about all the evils in the Hellsing universe is similar to the Mummy’s curse bringing misfortune upon modern day Egypt. Then there’s the fact her corpse is wrapped in bandages in the same manner as mummification).
The Major- The Automaton by E. T. A. Hoffman. The short story involves a robot with a human appearance, but a supernatural presence, much like the villain.
