Eddie's not at all surprised when his phone buzzes on his nightstand, regardless of the fact it's twenty to midnight and he and Buck are on shift together at eight AM. 

Buck: still feeling frustrated? really wish i could help out, man 😣🆘💪🏻🎁✌🏻💞

Then another buzz as Eddie's still deciphering the emoji story he's almost positive nobody else in the world bar him and Christopher would be able to understand. 

Buck: you sure there isn't anything i can do for you?? 🤔🤔🥰🥰

Eddie smiles, even if there's really dulce nada Buck can do to bleach out Eddie's disturbing visions of Marisol dressed as la Santa Maria that appear every time his dick so much as brushes against his boxer briefs.

It's been way too long since Eddie jerked off, and he's starting to feel a little like Pepa’s pressure cooker. 

He taps out a reply. 

Not unless you know how to perform whatever the opposite of an exorcism is. 

And that—doesn't even make sense. But he knows Buck will get it.

He takes a breath and sighs harshly on the exhale, and it's probably more forceful (and definitely more dramatic) than warranted, but Eddie's currently feeling pretty petulant so can't bring himself to give a shit.

His phone buzzes again in his hand.

Buck: still feel as if the big beardy man in the sky is watching, huh? 🧔☁️👀🫣

Eddie stares at the words man and watching on his phone screen, and squirms a little in his bed sheets when completely unsolicited images of Buck and Tommy in Buck's big bed flash through his mind, as if Eddie's scrolling the thumbnails on the only page of PornHub he's ever looked at.

He blinks. 

What the fuck. 

He swallows. Feels a little like rice pudding. Wonders where the hell that came from. 

Hell, just like you said, Eddie's catholic guilt supplies.

He hasn't been to church in years, certainly doesn't pray anymore, and doesn't even really think about God or the church in conjunction with his upbringing, at least not much anyway. He has read that indoctrination at a formative age is a pretty crazy thing, though.

Eddie's parents are still angry he doesn't want religion playing a big part in Christopher's life.

But is he—is Eddie feeling weird about Buck and Tommy having sex?
